I still think snagging the Pelicans pick from the Hawks would be sweet. Lauri for the Pels pick and filler feels like a good deal for both teams. Wr end up with 2 lottery picks to go along with Ace, Walt, Key, and then we have cash to pay for Kessler.

Bad news: The Jazz fans will certainly not end with the worst record. Nets have that in a death grip.

The Pelicans are also probably worse than the Jazz while trying to win.

Funny thing is, when I predicted the draft this summer and pretty much nailed it, I was just joking around. But I feel strongly this will be our fate, the 4th or 5th pick again, whichever one allows us to keep the pick. I haven't been following, is it top 4 protected, or top 8 or something? idk

Top-8 protected, but since the top-4 are lottery slots, you could have as many as four teams leapfrog teams with worse records, which means in order to guarantee keeping their pick, the Jazz have to finish bottom-4 in the standings.

Tres timeline ain't gonna match the top pick timeline either. They should trade Tre and Johnson and go all in on the youth due to their fortune or they should cash in chips and go all in one another all star.

I think trying to do both will flop like it did for the Warriors.
