Lauri was in half this boards dumpster 6 months ago. Let that be a lesson that players have ups and downs like the stock market and that perceived value can change quickly.

Same goes for Cody Williams who continues to get progressively better bit by bit.
Cody Williams has no significant ups to speak of. It’s worth mentioning that most players in the league don’t get a second contract.
This is such bull ****.
Lauri not being worth a huge contract/stating that Lauri’s return value in a trade will be less than Don and Rudy because the trade landscape has completely changed/we should’ve traded Lauri if we were going to essentially tank for four years does not equate to evaluating Lauri as belonging in the dumpster.
This seems like a fine time to mention that when Lauri is hobbled (as he was for almost all of last year) he is not very effective and the amount he’s playing puts him at great risk of overuse injuries which is in the interest of nobody.

Cody defends and his biggest problem last year was how timid he was. He would never attack the paint... EVER. Now he is driving and dunking with some real class. If his shot improves, I would say he has upside.

Is it though? Lauri's stats are impressive. I think he has plenty of value in this league. And many folks here said that his contract wasnt worth more than 1 or 2 firsts and that it is potentially one of the worst contracts in the league and that he was washed.
There is plenty of literature to support that in this board. Not just you Endigo Montoya.
Selfishly, I would want to bring back our young players on second contracts and that they would make massive improvements on their second deals. You do need quality back benchers and the CBA makes it impossible to keep talent - I would use any trick in the book to keep costs low and spend when I really need to do so.
