If defense is considered as important as offense he would definitely be top 5. His defensive impact is basically as impressive as Kon's offensive impact.

I'm not watching cmb closely at all so I can't refute that, but I find it hard to believe

Probably a little hyperbolic. Kon's offense is more polished than CMB's defense (CMB still fouls too much), but I think he's a near equally good defensive prospect as Kon is an offensive prospect.

There just aren't a lot of guys in the league that can guard all over the court as well as CMB.

I had to laugh when I read that. Yeah, they're definitely going to try to sit Trae as much as possible. I'm sure that was a factor in their decision to get him. But they may have to play him later to avoid penalties. This year is interesting because the upcoming draft is so loaded, and the teams (and the league) know it. It remains to be seen if the league will start watching tanking teams more closely for the rest of the season.

Out of all of "the next Draymond" type prospects, CMB is definitely the closest. Nobody is Draymond, but I foresee all defensive teams in CMB's future.

And remember, he's doing this almost entirely as the 5 or next to a fake 5 (Sandro Mamu). Undersized my ***.
