The Official and Unfortunate R.I.P. Jazzfanz member thread

YB and vslice, who still post occasionally, are the recent losses that hurt the Jazz board the most. I even miss BillyShelby, whose knowledge of the game is sorely lacking on the board now (this goes for vslice too...the two of them were the best we had, and no one's come close to filling their shoes), even if his player evaluation was terrible (in my opinion, or course...). Would be nice if honz were around more too.

nerd? Yikes. Dude fabricates and/or knowingly misrepresents and misuses stats more than anyone on the board, possibly ever. He's still 10X better than the average halfwit who posts now, but let's not get all sentimental and stupid about it.

Troutbum touting the prowess of NBAnoob. Lololololol

His takes last season were painfully bad.

posted from my htc one using tapaBONGO

See the first quote, dick for brains.

He still posts as AKMVP.

It's really too bad all the Canadian posters hate each other (I propose an AKMVP v. Dalamon death match to end the animosity...I'll be cheering for dal, even though the smart money's on AKMVP).

Hey man. I got nothing but love for you and JimLes.

I'd put money on AKMVP as well. I didn't grow up in the Soviet Union, after all.

Not all of us. I joined just in time to watch LTV go down in a blaze of glory.

This is very hard to argue with. The cherry on top was when LTV called out Greggy-Pooh for months, and then pussied out of a face to face encounter (and free VIP seats) when Greg invited him to a game.

This must be some sort of STD joke. I grow so weary...

Wait, you mean the guy that is at every single game, most practices, locker rooms, press conferences, and player interviews -- not to mention he is a stat crunching fool -- thinks the same thing I do? Burks is pure chucking crap and DeMarre is as worthless as ******* on a wild boar? Ya, I'm sure a bunch of guys who watch KJZZ and listen to Sports Talk Radio know a lot more about it then he does. Morons.

PBUH

Yeah, we already know Trout.

Has always been my number one for game talk. Stats only tell a small portion of the story and vslice clearly understand that overall game very well.

I am gone for six months and I don't even get an honorable mention? How weak is that?

6 months isn't long enough to be considered gone. You've gotten a lot of burn around here, though. I see you got your name back.. you going to post a little now or just teasing us?

You have been mentioned several times by various posters as a good poster they wish would come back/post more if it makes you feel better.

The problem is, without context the stats are completely meaningless. The stats in the boxscore, and even most advanced stats (win shares, PER and its components), do little to add the needed context. I lack understanding of the finer points, having never played real organized basketball or made an earnest study of basketball strategy/sets/plays, etc., and it's nice to have someone around to teach and correct my misunderstandings. Unfortunately, there are few people on this board who can provide, understand or appreciate the fine detail. I might have to find better hobbies (or a team with a more informed fanbase).

Harsh, but largely true. I had a hard time with the same when I first got here. I don't think there's a more basketball savvy fanbase than Kentucky's and the talk is technical and detailed. On the board I used to run, there was always AAU coaches, Scott van Pelt, sports radio guys, and even the occasional college coach dropping by for discussion.

I just more adapted to this site and what it is/has become. I've found I can write something detailed and long and no one responds.. so why waste time?

Anyway, even though you're a consistent smug *** in nearly every post, you're a definite favorite of mine and I would be severely disappointed if you ever quit posting.

I knew you guys loved me! :)

I decided I would come back and post every know and then. I will need my Jazz fix while I am in Europe.

Yep. I have two things against me:

1) I'm young

2) I didn't play basketball for my entire life

This Jazz forum can really get unbearable at times, with the opinions. I know I've argued with you a bunch GVC, but I have always had nothing but immense respect for your desire to try and unveil the truth-- instead of suit an agenda of yours.

Honestly, that claim right there can't be said about 90% of posters here. That's what I really aim to do-- I never bitch and moan about core4 ad-nauseum, and I try to understand insights behind a coaching stuff making personnel decisions-- I stead of casting them off as idiots from the warmth of my comfy ottoman

Going back ~12 years, what happened to Red and Black Attack, the Blazers fan? I'm pretty sure he was also Saxon over on the general realgm forums. He'd always suggest the most ludicrous trades.

Also still very curious about vinyl. A number of people said he's BluesRocker, which is silly. On that note, I'm assuming Hack is BluesRocker.

While I'm at it: stop changing your names. Pick one and stick with it. Do you think I like my name?
