I love Bolerjack. Not as big of a Locke fan. I appreciate his approach to analytics, but he strikes me as a big smug these days. Thinks he's a know-it-all.
 
I don't get the Bolerjack hate. He's not my favorite announcer or anything, but he's about as average an announcer as it gets, and I never get the sense he's mailing it in.

Heck, my biggest complaint with him used to be his amazing tendency to call a 2 point shot a 3, but I haven't even noticed that this much this year. But it's early.

That's right. And he makes blatant mistakes when announcing games. However I am not paying attention to what's he's saying.. His voice is good, and despite his overall laziness he sincerely enjoys when the Jazz are doing well on the court and reflects that to the audience. And as other posters said, compared to the average NBA local TV announcers, he's easily 'well above average'. I dare you to watch other team's games.

I listen to other play by play guys because I travel all over for work. I take our folks hands down over most I listen to. If you are concerned about our announcers you must not get out much or have such a perfect life that you don't have much else to be concerned with.
 
I've gotten a bit annoyed with the "pushoffnocall" thing he does when it's a standard NBA play that never gets called for a foul.
 
I love boiler and harpring, they get stuff wrong but I’m not relying on them for information, it’s not radio, they just get me hyped for the jazz. Ron Boone is my least favourite but even he makes me laugh.

I don't pay close attention to the announcers or really care too much what they are saying. I'm usually watching the game, using the bathroom, playing with my daughter, talking to my wife, getting drinks, texting people, and posting on jazzfanz. Not paying all that much attention to how accurate the announcers are.

Love bolers voice though.

You judge them by their knowledge of basketball and their preparation for the specific game they're calling. Obviously. Bolerjack grades very low in both.

This isn't some mere "subjective" thing, hun.

Fyi, Joe Johnson is a vet. A veteran. He plays at his own pace.

Fyi, Donovan Mitchell is a rook. A rookie. He's a rookie. Rook is short/cool for rookie. Donovan is a rookie.

Jingling Joe. He jingles passes and shots. He used to just jingle shots. But he jingles more now.

Donovan Mitchell is from Louisville, btw.

You can also judge them by their reliance on hackneyed and straight-up dumb phrases. Bolerjack is awful in this respect, and is definitely responsible for dragging Harpring down to his level.
