The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Not a liberal.

Let's clarify why Schiff cut them off, they were reportedly asking questions about who he spoke to in hopes of outing the whistleblower. Which could be construed as witness tampering. So yeah, not good, and I’m glad Schiff shut it down.

The whistleblower shouldn’t face death threats and harm because Republicans out his name. The whistleblower is entitled to protection and anonymity. Republicans don’t have a defense and instead are taking out their frustration on witnesses and whistleblowers.

I have a better idea, stand up for the constitution that they swore an oath to. Trump will pass, but the blight on our democracy that Republicans are leaving certainly won't.

Do Trumpers think that people like Taylor, Vindman, Fiona Hill, Yovanovitch, and Donald’s hand picked donor/ambassador, Sondland, all “ganged up” against him to prevent his re-election in 2020 because the Democrats can’t win fairly? Really??? You think Bolten who described Rudy as a “hand grenade” wants Warren to be president?

Why can’t impeachment be because... Donald committed impeachable offenses? I know it’s crazy and everything has to be a conspiracy for you guys. But maybe Donald just got caught committing impeachable offenses similar to those he committed in 2015-2016?

Pretty weak impeachable offense though right? You dont want a win on a technicality do you?

I think Thriller already posted something about this but it bears repeating. Watergate tapes all over again.

Yep. Kruse called it:

Also, remember how last week Republicans were upset that they didn't have access to these hearings? Wow, it's almost like their protest wasn't very sincere...

The Founding Fathers certainly didn't think foreign interference in our elections was a "weak" impeachable offense. See the article below to see what they thought.

Plus, you need to compounded how this ties up our president into international affairs, bribery, attempts to exonerate Russia, and how our national security is hurt by this entire debacle. I honestly can't think of a worse impeachable offense outside of perhaps war related crimes, can you?

The framers also feared that presidents or other executive officers might prove disloyal to the country and Constitution they were sworn to protect. Thus the impeachment clause, as originally written, singled out the crimes of treason and bribery as grounds for impeachment.

When the newly minted Constitution was awaiting ratification by the states, some of its advocates produced a series of written arguments for it that were published as The Federalist.

No. 68 in this series (usually attributed to the prolific Alexander Hamilton) said, "The desire [of] foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our counsels" was a source of corruption and "one of the most deadly adversaries of republican government...

In a letter written late in 1787, Adams wrote that he understood Jefferson being "apprehensive of foreign Interference, Intrigue and Influence." Adams said he shared that very concern and thought it was a good reason not to have elections too often.

"As often as Elections happen," Adams wrote, "the danger of foreign Influence recurs."

These divisions were still fresh for Washington when he wrote one of the most famous passages of his 1796 farewell address. As he voluntarily retired after two terms, Washington was at pains to warn against all foreign entanglements:

"Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence ... the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake, since history and experience prove that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of republican government."

Our founding fathers were a bunch of old white men. They also had slaves. Their ideas werent the greatest.

I dont believe in putting up walls and alienating ourselves from the rest of the world. Our country effects the rest of the world so much that maybe they should have a say in our elections dont you think?

You're moving the goalposts. They were the ones that drew up what was impeachable. Clearly, they didn't find what Trump did as "weak."

You're done. No need to response with nonsense anymore. Take the loss buddy.

When the republicans asked the military officer a question Shefty Shiff would not let him answer. You liberals are not fair at all.

Can we circle this for a second?

What were the questions that were disallowed, or prohibited from asking?

A list would be perfect, please and thank you

I thought I just said something that put us on common ground. Id love to know which part you disagreed with. No goal posts moved at all.

The constitution is just a piece of paper. Im not going to worship it. It can be changed. I dont see anything wrong with making deals with other countries to help weed out corruption. I also dont have a problem with people from other countries having a say in our elections. Nationalism is gross.

Im not Trolling. Im just here saying 'Hey'

And you are a dick like Trump. He is your perfect President. You Tweet and like to talk trash too.

I dont tweet, but I can be a dick to trolls sometimes, I would not be a good president either... Although I would be far less embarrassing then Trump. I would also be far more honest and transparent. But I am pretty sure about 99% of adults would be more honest than Trump.

All that and still manages to do a great job at being president. Im not even mad that he fights dirty back.
