What's new

The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Oof. Got me. I'm gonna call my supervisor and advise abandoning this website-- we've clearly failed.

I already told Jason, and he just ignores me now. And Colton, and SirWimpyEgghead. Rev8? Didn't he die from Covid in Germany.

I know the leadership here is pretty weak, hardly ever involved in fact. Or in fact even concerned with facts. Some of the mods seem willing to humor an oddball like me, though. It's more of safe place for libs than a Utah community, for sure, and I'm pretty sure almost no one here but Thriller actually is being told what to say, or not to say....... maybe that newb Zombie is still on training wheels.... A community of like-minded hopeful people seeking refuge from the atrocities of the Sporting Life. That's what Basketball has always been for me. No rough and tumble stuff, no falling flat in the mud, no funny ball that doesn't bounce right or fly right.

Basketball is hardwood, waxed , and all net three pointers with no one close enough to object or obstruct.

Clearly, I understand why libs like Basketball, and why it's sooooo important to run off the fire-breathing nitwit rednecks who just can't appreciate "The Way Things Are".

I agree that Biden sucks.
Thing is, it wouldn't matter who the nominee was for the Dems. You would still think they suck cause you a republican.
The other thing is that if he were the likely republican candidate then you would be willing to overlook his flaws, defend him, support him, and eventually vote for him

I want Biden and Hunter in jail with Hillary. Jail, Hell or Bust!!!!! What a great campaign slogan for the Dems.

Not so much to ask, really.

Throw in McConnel and his wife Elaine Chou too.

My Gawd. Isn't Harry dead already. Probably a cooked Mo. Like Mitt is gonna be if he keeps on keepin' on with his schtick.

I'd expect Huntsman to go that way too.

To choose not to vote is to choose the status quo. Don't miss the opportunity to take a chance that devil we don't know is not as bad as the devil we do know. It can not be any worse.

Actually, I've seen this before. People who are freshly weaned from the idea of God, flexing some incipient Anarchist notions, not all that settled with Establishment mainstay figureheads.

Our politicians are rarely independent critters. To be a polician, you have to lick boots...... more importantly you have to find the right boots to lick.

Pretty sure Trump was a slow study on the art, but I imagine he's learning.....

Not true at all. I would have voted for Klobochar. I would probably vote for Cuomo. I voted for Obama in '08. I think that Biden is unelectable because he can't even form a coherent sentence these days. He ought to be killing it on the virtual campaign trail ATM but you never hear from him because even his handlers have figured out that he's a disaster. If they let him debate against Trump it will be a bloodbath. It looks like the Dems are in a desperate situation to me. How are they going to get him out of the way? I wouldn't be very surprised if he "catches COVID" and disappears.

You know, I typed out this whole response about how my definition of 'status quo' includes not voting for someone we like, but voting against the person we don't like, and how that's not a good enough reason to participate. But the more I typed, the more I came around to realizing we are at such a low point, that's maybe the best we can do in our voting process. I believe, in fact, that's exactly how we got to where we are at this point in history: The only reason Trump got elected was because he knew he already had the blindly loyal Republican voters, and went about the task of garnering support from huge chunks of society absolutely starving for his anti-establishment rhetoric. I mean, Trump voters were either voting against a) Democrats, and/or b) what they believed to be the swamp, or the status quo, or whatever you want to call it (babe can elaborate-- just ask). It's that simple, and it will be the same in 2020. It feels greasy to admit it, but I hear what you're saying, Stars Fan: The reason why I-- why anybody-- should now knowingly participate in a system that's this broken is to fight fire with fire. If that's how Trump got into office, that just might be the only way to get him out. And if he stays another four years, it's because the country still favors the lowest common denominator... though for me, the margin between that and Biden isn't much.
So, you're saying there's a chance?!?

How anyone can watch 45 and think he is consistently coherent is beyond me. Biden might have a slipping belt as well, but the idea that he is less coherent than Trump is fake news. A debate between the two could be highly entertaining. Moderators be like huh? Whaaa? Ok then, back to you in the booth....heeeeelp!!

My hope is that Biden, or his backers, realize that he is in trouble and come out with a party unity cabinet well before the convention. Take the good idea people and put them in positions of responsibility, Yang, Warren. Klobuchar, etc. Make it clear that the president will not be playing solitaire, that he will listen to competent people and make decisions based on fact and expertise.

Over 22,000 dead now and he's completely focused on the issue at hand, as usual.

Interesting. I see Trump as an extreme promoter and I can see why that bothers people who dislike his policies. I do not see him as incoherent. Meanwhile, to me Biden has always been somewhat of a bumbler but recently he seems to be completely losing his faculties. I have not seen a recent interview where he has made any sense at all. I believe that he has known for a while that his mental faculties are slipping. This is why he has suggested that he might not even be able to finish a first term. I think a debate between Biden and Trump would be a complete train wreck, and the certain casualty will be Biden.

The idea that electing Biden so that his unelected cabinet could take over and run the country while he takes naps and drinks soup (which is where he appears to be headed in the short term) is not very comforting.

I;ve watched a few videos where people announce them as "Biden can't even form a sentence" and I see a guy who is not an elegant speaker but who is doing just fine. This whole thing about him being a bumbling incoherent mess is being blown way out of proportion.

Screw the media.

All of this if BS. The media did not like hearing their own words back at them.

This is the natural conclusion to Alan’s argument during impeachment. The president is an absolute monarch and can do whatever he wants.
