The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Where do I sign the petition. How do you defend the indefensible? We have a thoroughly unscrupulous con-artist in our highest office. Daily he besmirches the dignity of that office with his incendiary rants and tirades. These are not careless remarks either, he knows how to energize his base by pandering to the lowest common denominator. He respects nothing but his own self-interest and will say or do anything to promote himself. He's a cold hearted megalomaniac that operates in every fashion like a Mafia Don or a Cartel Kingpin conning, conniving and intimidating. It's almost comical the way he aligns himself with world's most heinous dictators and human rights abusers like some kind of federation of villains. He counts Putin, Muhammad Bin Salman and Kim Jong-Un among his "friends". Almost everything he says and does is a ploy of some kind, and he's constantly contradicting himself. Why can't the vast majority of Republicans see how dangerous this guy is? Former Defense Secretary Mattis knows and so does former FBI Director James Comey. Fired Intel Chief Dan Coats knows that this is the kind of arrogant moron that could stumble us into a Nuclear War. Qualification means nothing to this guy as he roots out anyone who dares to stand up straight in his presence. And don't get me started on Climate Change.

Really, to me it's like a really bad dream. Trump is Biff Tannen and Marty McFly or somebody needs to step up and save the day:

Of course a single voter isn't going to swing an election. But this attitude is prevelant among enough people that it can and does.

I couldn't say: you alone colton, by not voting (or voting third party) caused Trump to win, but I could say: Colton, you and millions of others who didn't vote (or again voted third party) caused Trump to win.

You can say it doesn't matter if it helps you feel better about it, but it does.
No it doesn't . That's no more a valid viewpoint than me saying that you, by not voting for Evan McMullin, caused Trump to win.

Agree to disagree then. I think there's a difference between people voting for a candidate that has a chance to win and one that doesn't, especially in an election that's bound to be as close as this one. Although, in fairness I think both of us live in states that are going deep red next year anyway.

Please explain how a single vote will change any national election outcome. You can't. It won't. It's simple math. You can keep insulting me if you want, but that won't change how the world works.

I’m not insulting you. I think you’re plenty intelligent and moral enough and enjoy most of your posts. But I also think you’re being obtuse and cynical about politics. If you find that insulting and not an observation from someone experienced in education and plugged into our political system then I got nothing for ya. I also find cynicism is running strong in our political environment these days, especially among the right.

Which, I find to be an especially disheartening trend today. Just as much as the overt racism we see from trump and his followers.

The American government has been and can continue to still be a great engine of social, economic, and environmental change. Apathy, cynicism, and lack of trust in our governmental institutions is discouraging to someone like me who still believes in the American government.

More of this please. Democrats worried about what the polls say regarding support for impeachment need a lesson in history. Public support for Nixons impeachment didn't cross 50% until well after the Watergate hearings began. There's a solid case for Trump's impeachment, Democrats need only make it.

You can't impeach the president just because you don't approve of the way he talks. There is absolutely no case to be made in the real world for any type of impeachment inquiry.

I know you've been in enough of these threads to know that our support for impeachment isn't based on the way he talks. Quit playing dumb.

Well if its not based on the way he talks, it's also not based in reality either. It's wishful thinking at best from those who still haven't quite figured out that pursuing BS like this is the exact reason why they lost the 2016 election.

The Democrats, Not Trump, Are the Racists

https://pjmedia.com/rogerlsimon/the-democrats-not-trump-are-the-racists/

"It doesn't take Nostradamus, or even a Coney Island fortune teller, to predict the coming Democratic presidential debates will be filled to overflowing with accusations of racism toward Donald Trump.

Not only that, the candidates will certainly be doing their bests, directly or by innuendo, to tarnish each other with the same ugly brush in an almost always fallacious manner. But when it comes to the real, down-home, George-Wallace-Segregation-Now-Segregation-Forever racial bigotry, it will be Donald Trump by a landslide. To them, POTUS is the big, bad, racist wolf.

This is, will be, and has been from the beginning one of the purest examples of projection since Sigmund Freud described this form of psychological hysteria in The Neuro-Psychoses of Defence (1894).

The Democrats are the true racists. The more they and their press lackeys call others racist, the more racist they are. and the more racism they generate. These days one might as well call the Democratic Party The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Racism."
