The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

This is not comedy. I repeat, this is NOT comedy! This is something someone posts on their facebook because they believe this.

Who's after what now?

speaking of which...

I hear you and completely get your point. I agree with it for the most part. That said, one of my buddies loves Trump and he’s (my buddy, not Trump, the latter’s a POS) a great guy and has said he’s voting for Trump again because it keeps more money in his pocket and the sky isn’t falling as many (respectfully, perhaps yourself included) say in this country. He’s tired of liberal programs that dole money out to those in need, many of whom do nothing but suck off that teet. Liberal programs that have helped virtually bankrupt every state in the union. I’m paraphrasing but I understand that general sentiment, and respect it, and can see how both sides and their policies are fatally flawed.

I get it. I had friends like this too. That’s why he’s most likely to be put in group #1, he’s an idiot (politically) and ignorant. Just curious, what’s your friend’s education level and what does he do for a living?

  • Nearly every state in the union has been bankrupted by liberal programs? Really? That’s some good stuff. Good meaning completely false. Most states aren’t “bankrupt.” And aren’t close to going bankrupt. The states with the most budget issues are red, like Kansas and Oklahoma. The results of tax cuts. Are tax cuts liberal policy now? :)
  • What actual evidence does he have showing the abuse of liberal programs? I want actual studies, not Limbaugh or Hannity segments. What impact would Would cutting all “liberal programs” have, both positive and negative?
  • If made king of the Union for a day, which specific programs would he get rid of? Food stamps? Social security? Medicare? SNAP? Can he even specify one liberal program that needs to be cut and explain the overall net benefit? Imagine cutting all Medicare and social security today. Does your friend have grandparents? Does he hope to work until 80?
  • Does your friend ever criticize the “welfare” going to big business? Or is he only angry at the liberal safety net programs that help the elderly and less fortunate? I’ve yet to see anyone from the right criticize stuff like this:

Fedex literally cut its taxes by BILLIONS and has actually cut investment in job creation. The exact opposite of what they promised to do.

Has your friend ever ranted about Trump’s handouts to try and maintain support in rural swing states?

So while your friend may rant about the single mom who’s getting a few hundred for food stamps, his ignorance and/or stupidity prohibits him from realizing that a company like FedEx is ripping off billions or farmers being given handouts to try and maintain their support in key electoral college states.

and remember, I had friends like you’re too. I’ve found to either educate or not discuss politics with them (group 1: Ignorance). Or there hace have been some, who I’ve told them that their politics are so disgusting that I no longer care to associate with them (group 2: Character Flaws). And yes, I’ve done this to a few people (3 that I can think of. 1 a family member) who truly lacked so much in character that it took so much of a toll to interact with them on political matters that it destroyed our relationship. Which is fine honestly and probably needed. People with abhorrent political views need to be called out, shamed, and social ties eliminated. I’m happier for it and I hope they someday will change their racist and bigoted beliefs.

I know those arent your thoughts but I find that kind of thinking funny.
People get pissed about poor people getting small handouts and sucking off the teet. Yet don't care about rich people getting enormous handouts and sucking off the teet. That's weird to me.

Short and to the point. Well done.

My Trump supporting Dad isn't very educated, but he's a really intelligent guy. He's also one of the most charitable, kind and humble people I know. He just happens to be completely captured by the right wing propaganda network that is Fox News/Talk Radio/Breitbart.

The idea that Trumper's must be either stupid or evil needs to die.

This is my dad too although my dad is highly educated.
He is also as kind and charitable as anyone there is but he is also on the pretty extreme right and hates all liberals/democrats.

The relationship between one’s education level and one’s support of trump is strong and empirical. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule. And I’m there’s a relationship between one’s Fox News viewing and support of Trump as well. Maybe one should study the relationship of education level to news sources? But if you want to argue against empirical evidence of one’s education level and one’s support of Trump, be my guest. It’s just overwhelming the evidence here.

I’m guessing you’re probably not a climate change denier or an anti-vaxxer, right? Why would you support the empirical evidence of climate change or vaccines while denying the empirical evidence of the poorly educated’s support of Trump?

It's a little weird. He's super compassionate in his personal life, but when it comes to politics all that goes out the window. And I'm not talking about preferring conservative policies, I mean the way he talks about democrats, how eager he is to insult and deride liberals. It's like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde with how his temperament changes.

That doesn't have much to do with what I'm saying though. Education =//= intelligence. I'm not arguing at all that less educated people tend to be more attracted to Trump and the GOP in general. I just think that has more to do with class than it does intelligence.

Yep. Samesies. Are you my sibling?

Gonna go with: false. :p

My John Hancock pension guys, TBH, are fricking morons who went to great lengths to tell me about how good Trump's tax cuts are and didn't understand jack all about how tariffs work. They were selected by the firm, so I don't get to pick new ones - but I would if I could.

Your friend may be "very smart" but these are not the line items that would demonstrate that.

The average SAT score at Gettysburg is 1340. That’s far above average. The guy would be the first person to say he didn’t think it was a great school and thought many (most?) that went were morons. But it’s recognized as a strong college. Not sure why tbh.

From one website: “Located adjacent to the famous Civil War battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is Gettysburg College, one of the best liberal arts colleges in the Northeast. Students have come from 43 states and 35 countries to pursue Gettysburg's excellent liberal arts curriculum that includes choices of majoring in things like art history, art studio, classical studies, english, French, German Studies, Religious Studies, and a range of other options. It consistently ranks among the top colleges in the country, and in 2015, was ranked by Princeton Review as one of the four top liberal arts college for placing students in strong internship programs.”

Now, your anecdote about a couple of random pension guys who work there not being smart may very well be the case. Or it may not as idiots or not, they somehow sold your firm. Having said that, he says himself how 2/3 of them are idiots.

Carry on, though.
