Tom Lehrer's work was some of the small amount of non-classical or religious music my Dad owned.

Also, he claimed to have invented the modern jello shot as a way to sneak booze onto the Navy base he was stationed at.

I just don't find this guy funny.
Yeah that was a dud. He's stretching way too hard to try to make this a comedy thing and it just isn't. It's like it's misplaced, doesn't ring plausible so it isn't funny and his delivery and script are both ***.
 
Isn't that kind of like saying, "a giant of underwater basket weaving"?

Stratton was one of the most respected critics in Variety, without his influence is there a Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Hugo Weaving, Rose Burn, Geoffrey Rush, Guy Pearce, so on and so forth.
