What empirical evidence do you have to support this view?
I have a friend that stopped watching last year, long before Trump called out the NFL.

Empirical evidence that people are boycotting the NFL? I don't know of any tbh. But I do take the people who have told me at their word. What empirical evidence do you have to support this view?

Dude, I didn't say I take Donny Two Scoops at his word. That's crazy.Donald promised republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare with “something” better. Oh and would cover everyone. He also promised to bring back coal and manufacturing jobs. Could you list 3 of legislation that Donald has signed into law to accomplish this? If not, his approval Rating among republicans must have really dropped in the last few months, right?
Trump voters are a bunch of bark no bite. With the exception of running over a poor defenseless woman in Charlottesville

I'm saying I take my friends and family who have told me they have stopped watching the NFL over the protests at their words. I've told them I think that's silly, but I don't doubt they are doing it. I also don't doubt they are alone.

A handful of states have considered bills protecting drivers who hit protestors blocking roads:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/18/us/legislation-protects-drivers-injure-protesters/index.html
I first noticed the trend during the Dakota pipeline protests, and measures protecting drivers was discussed in North Dakota. I don't think any of the proposed bills have actually passed, and there has been a backlash since the death of a protester by a vehicle in Charlottesville. I only just realized my own state, Rhode Island, is one of the states where the issue has been discussed...

That driver in Charlottesville is exactly why such bills need to be well crafted.
You think a law against people protesting in the streets would’ve prevented that trump worshipping Nazi from murdering someone? If not with his car, couldn’t he just use a knife or gun?
/facepalm
You missed the entire point of that discussion. Let me spell it out for you.
I think protesting in the streets should be illegal. it is dangerous for them and the drivers.
Red said that some states are looking at laws that would protect the driver of cars that hit protesters.
I replied that this specific case is a good example of why any bills like that would need to be well crafted. Not just blanket laws protecting all drivers.
That means that I think the Charlottesville driver is a murderer and should not be given that blanket protection.
OK, I'm going back to looking past you now. Feel free to type a reply I won't read.
