Aging down under is different, mate.Exum is 18 now?
He just gets younger and younger. (He just turned 20 this summer which tells me he was 19 when he was drafted....... He never played an nba game as an 18 year old)

Well, doesn't the water spin the reverse direction than it does in the U.S.? So maybe clocks run backwards, too!

1. I do realize that he has made huge improvements regarding his 3-pt shooting, I just believe that (depending on who the PG ends up being) that the starting unit needs a volume 3-pt shooter in the lineup, which Hood (imo) is more capable of providing than Burks.
2. Imo, he needs to do it for more than 27 games (or however many games he played) to be considered a consistently above average 3-pt shooter.
3. Over-dribbling/not seeing the pass to be made are part of my concerns regarding his fit in our offensive system. Off-ball defense is one of my concerns regarding his fit in our defensive system.
4. I agree with what you said regarding his defensive ability & believe that he has the potential to (& eventually will) become an above average defender, I just don't think he's there yet.
You saying Burks needs more than 27 games of shooting the 3 well is funny, considering your stance. We have a small size on Hood. Alec also shot pretty decent from 3 in 13'-14'. His career trajectory is ab upward climb year after year. I too like Hood a lot, and have extremely high hopes for him, but lets not act like we have a huge NBA sample size on him just yet. He was great at the end of last year, but Alec has also done a lot of improving, and is more proven in the NBA. Training camp, and preseason will be very interesting. This, my friends, is an awesome problem to have. W/ Alec injured and out, and Hood injured and a rookie, our SG production sucked last year. Now we have two guys who look more than capable, w/o hitting the market.
I'm excited he's back. I really am. My gut tells me he'll be the same old Burks, a really solid rotation guy but nothing special and a guy who makes far too many bonehead mistakes at times or misses too many free throws or does other **** where we all collectively sigh. And sigh not because he sucks but moreso at the concept that we all know he has all the physical ability and tools and skill and alpha mentality. He just can't put it all together.
Hopefully I'm wrong though and he becomes a brilliant 15.5/4/4 guy off the bench.
Burks was younger than hood in his rookie season fwiw...... I think Burks was 19 when he was drafted and I think hood was 21.Where they end up at the end of their rookie year is kind of the baseline that all future improvement is measured from, where it all starts so to say. Hood has a higher base than Burks.

Also you have to factor in the corbin factor and Burks lack of playing time his rookie year
