I Was referring to the HH that started this thread. Perhaps you are more than a little drunkered? Also, are you saying you are the poster formally known as heaven Harris?

Favors' age, defense, character, contract, & improving mid-range jump shot make him the 2nd most valuable player on this team. The only way he should be traded is in a blockbuster that brings in a superstar, which is unlikely (although should be considered if the right deal ever came along).
I know this is blasphemy on Jazzfanz, but the player this thread should be about is Hayward. He is one of the best 2-way players in the NBA, represents everything that this franchise stands for (with his hustle, work ethic, character, etc), & is the reason that our offense wasn't near the bottom of the league statistically last season, but he can opt-out in 2 years (when Exum projects to become a significant contributor- meaning when we project to legitimately compete) & will likely require a max contract extension under the new salary cap (which very few players will be worth even if the cap does rise to 100 mil), if he's even interested in re-signing (which I expect him to be unless we're still a lottery team, although you never know).
Unless there is any indication that he would consider signing for less than the max, which is possible, but would likely depend on us being legitimate championship contenders by then (which may prove difficult with Exum starting), I think it needs to be considered. As much as I love Hayward & what he brings to this team, I'm not sure he will be worth 20+ mil, & to lose him for nothing just as we begin to become truly competitive would set back the franchise more than Al/Sap walking did (or trading him now would). We could wait a year but his value would be significantly lower due to his opt-out clause.
Not saying we should necessarily trade Hayward, just that if we're going to have a thread about dealing one of our big three, it should be about him instead of Favors.
Where do people come up with this ****?Assume we trade and get the 4th pick and a 2017 nyc first for Favors.
Trade: 4th, 12th, our 2017 first, Knicks 2017 first, OKC 2017 first, GSW 2017 first and Exum for Anthony Davis.
Hayward, Davis, Gobert, OMG

Damnit HH, I even said Tia. Favors is officially the most underrated player in Utah now. Utah is on the verge of something special, and Favors is a big part of that. There are many reasons why Favors isn't getting traded, and I'm on my phone right now, so I can't write the book of a post I'd like to, so I'll make it short for now. It's a terrible idea and it ain't happening.
To me the question is Paul Millsap (assuming we can get him... the super trustworthy Spence Checketts said its a "done deal") and Porzingis (could bust or could be an all-star and may be a better fit long term) vs. Favors and whatever FA we can bring in... I'm just not sure what we can land that fits that wouldn't leave us with a potential playing time log jam.
The fourth pick has yielded Russel Westbrook, Chris Paul, and Chris Bosh during the last ten years... It has also brought some busts like Dion Waiters and Wesley Johnson... and some good players like Mike Conley, Tyreke Evans, and Tristan Thompson.
If DL believes our core is good enough to be a contender then I wouldn't make a move... if we still believe we need to take a risk this wouldn't be the worst move ever.
this is extremely unlikely, but is kind of interesting to discuss to me... I think Checketts is talking out of his butt again about the Millsap stuff.

Maybe... if you can replace a decent part of what Favors does with your cap space it might be worth taking the chance... I wouldn't say its much more likely the 4 is a bust. More likely than not... sure.
You do realize that you are less than Bawse? Don't ya Dawg?
Why do we want to trade a 6'10 PF who is improving his skill level and can guard any position?
Close thread.
Uhh SA often plays two bugs who don't shoot 3's.Ultimately because he doesn't have a three point shot. Favors is perfect except for that one missing skill, but I think it could be a big one in DL's eyes. He wants to build a team in the SA mold.
