The Treys

I hated the Lyles pick. Him looking good for stretches made his dog**** last season here all the more frustrating. At least the Jazz were able to somehow turn him into something (Mitchell).

Yes and no. Burke had physical limitations that his talent wasn't able to overcome. Lyles doesn't have that problem, and as happy as I am that he's gone, it's way too early to lump him in with Trey Burke.

Lyles could easily end up accomplishing less than Burke in the NBA. Burke at least had a focused, mature approach and worked his tail off.

Burke hasn't accomplished anything, other than being lucky enough to play for a team that was desperate for someone at his position and also paid a high price to draft him, which forced them to follow through for much longer than they should have. Trey should have been traded in his 2nd year to a team that had actual NBA PGs, where he would have taken his rightful place as 3rd string bench warmer. And that's me being kind, because Burke isn't an NBA caliber player.

Lyles has accomplished nothing yet, but the only difference between him and Burke is that Utah wasn't as invested and were able to move on quickly, like they should have done with TB.

Lyles still has a chance to prove he belongs in this league, while TB has only proven that he doesn't. Like I said, way too early to lump Lyles in with Burke.

Either way i hope the Treys have good financial advisors to make the most of their initial contracts

Lyles looked like **** in college imo.

Probably my all time most hated draft pick I ever saw from the jazz.

Just looked it up. He shot 14% on his 3's in college. Wasn't DL high on him because he did so well on the balance test Dennis invented?
Drafting is an art and Lindsey saw potential. Lyles is just too goofy and I don't think he had/has the work ethic to develop the talent he has. If he did, he could be a good, modern 4.

I can forgive DL for the Lyles' pick. No GM is perfect, but DL has drafted two franchise players in Gobert and Mitchell. Yes, I'm declaring DM a star right now. And both were drafted outside the top-10. And let's no forgot Hood in the 20's and getting Ingles off the scrap heap.

I honestly believe trout isn't participating anymore. But if he is I have a couple ideas and they aren't trolls.

It’s obvious you don’t think he’s participating, as you’re often miffed and perplexed with the belief that the person you’re often arguing with and offended by is actually a real person somewhere.

Did DL really develop this infamous balance test? As a side note, I doubt anyone was really super impressed with his balance. The guys that (at the time) we would have been interested in were drafted before us. Lyles was pretty underwhelming and there wasn’t a whole lot to sell on him and you need to grab at something so the balance test became to go-to, not that they really based any decision on that.

lyles' twitter post after haywood **** still pisses me off. **** that dude

His results from the balance test were hyped by Lindsey when he was drafted. I'd probably guess it is (or was) a big part of the process. Not the only factor, but DL obviously thought it was important.

I'd be willing to bet that Trout is still the most active member during the season every year. I also believe he has some troll accounts, but not the ones already mentioned here. I agree with you though that his main accounts aren't troll accounts. There was a couple that he gave away long ago, and once people started catching on he got a lot more careful. You can bet your *** he's around though, haunting the place.

One of the main reasons DL drafted Lyles was because of how he was ranked before college, and the fact that he was kind of an afterthought playing next to higher profile players. He was one of the top ranked prospects in the nation going into college, but was playing out of position with other guys taking the spotlight. DL was betting that he was a diamond in the rough that just hadn't had a chance to get noticed.

That seems to be his strategy for later picks, or when there isn't an obvious choice. He kinda did the same thing with Bradley. Bradley was expected to be a top 10 pick next year if he stayed at college.
