No the police and military dont have guns.... in this hypothetical there is world peace and absolutely no need for guns at all.

I totally understand what you're saying, Fish. Really I do. But guns are like most things; use them responsibly and they are safe and useful. Yep, useful. I know Salty covered this, but accidental death makes up less than 5% of all deaths annually. Of that 5% (all accidental deaths) 0.5% are from firearms. Half a percent. Or, 0.0024% of all deaths.

Any accidental death is unfortunate, and no death is insignificant, but people accidentally shooting themselves or others is relatively uncommon. And it has more to do with responsible actions than with guns.

I suppose people who think like this have been "educated" out of the whole idea of freedom. State Socialism is the philosphy in all our education, in our media, and politics. Everybody is thinking the government must do whatever needs doing, and must make sure no one has any alternatives of their own choosing.

I agree with all of this..... i guess that i would just rather have no one die from accidental gun deaths than a few.

And just to be clear.... i understand that im basically talking nonsense with my hypothetical situation because it is basically impossible...... i was really just kind of doing an expirement to see if i could get people to open thier minds a bit...... salty did and i was impressed.
