The Walking Dead

Lol Hack likes the most boring and worst acted character on the show.

Worst acted at times, yes. I can't argue that. You could tell the actor was struggling to connect with his character at different times. Or it might just be he's the best actor in the world, because I've known rednecks that would have handled the situations he was in the EXACT SAME WAY. Including the get close and slowly stutter things out in hopes that it brings a level of drama to their words.

But if you notice, they've gotten away from putting him in those situations where he is going to appear to fail.

I still think Shane Walsh was the best at being a beer swilling, overly emotional redneck.

Shane was near perfect for his part. He connected with his character very well, but lets face it; His character was easy.

As far as who is the most believable actor on the show, for me it's Darryl. He just does so, SO well with what he's given.

Okay, FWIW, I had stopped watching for a while since the first two episodes after the mid-season break were so terrible. But I just shotgunned the most recent three, and I think I like the arc they're doing now. It's kind of a different angle, making the main characters out to be somewhat paranoid jerks.

Also, Carol is hilarious. The "interview" she did, and then her talk with the kid... made me smile.

You can take the dog out of the fight but you can't take the fight out of the dog, as it were.

I remember you writing about game of thrones, Little Finger talking to Cersei in the courtyard, and saying how clumsy Little Finger was and how that was so unlike him. I felt like Carol's speech was incredibly clumsy. But, the only less clumsy alternative was to kill the kid and then face the aftermath of a missing kid. No good options here. But all the same, her speech was pretty ham-fisted if you ask me. Trouble is coming.

I agree that trouble is coming. Plus there is still the Morgan wild card. Looks like Carol is becoming the last hold out more and more. Michonne is both feet in along with Carl. Daryl and Rick are wavering and Carol is the last hold out.

It was clumsy but funny. I guess that's what they were going for, a little dark humor. But yeah, she keeps talking about "getting to be invisible again," and what she did with the kid probably wasn't the best way to go about it. Then again, I guess she must have thought that nothing less stood a chance of her not being reported.

I'm actually looking forward to the next episode now; three episodes ago I couldn't have cared less.

Last few episodes have been good. How long can they sustain the interest though? Seems like Rick's group are going to be the bad guys this time around.

A million excuses would have worked on a kid. This just shows she isn't a quick thinker, or it was sloppy writing just to create and foreshadow a dramatic moment. A kid like that could be assuaged through any number of excuses.

"Oh hi. I noticed the window was unlocked and wanted to make sure nothing was missing."

"Oh good, can you help me? Can you check the pantry to make sure nothing is missing?"

"Hey. I had to inventory these and forgot my key so I checked for an open window. Good thing too. Let's go get those cookies. Oh and don't tell anyone about the open window. I am sure it was just a mistake and I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble."

I mean almost anything would have been better than what she did. She could have followed that up by hiding in plain site and going to the woman who takes care of the inventories there and telling her she and the kid found an open window and tried to make sure nothing was missing but that she should check it out.

I really like this show. It may sound ridiculous, but those last two episodes of civilization are the ones I enjoyed the most. All the tension of adapting...
