The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is the definition of addictive hate watching.

This is so true. I want to see it end, I have too much invested in it, so to speak. I usually don't waste my time with shows or movies that are not delivering on the promise, but I still find TWD entertaining even if it is just to scream "SHOOT HIM DAMMIT YOU MORONS, SHOOT HIM!!!" at the screen over and over again.

My company helps them every year with their big season premiere. Last night it was at the Greek Theater.

The place was packed with 6000 fans who were, for the most part, thoroughly entertained and happy. Watching them leave was like watching happy people leave Disneyland. I've honestly never been around that many people who were just content and happy and respectful.... (and I do this kind of thing a fair bit).

FWIW

I watched the talking dead, and it looked crazy. I wish I could have been in the audience to scream back at some of the fans, something like "SHUT THE **** UP AND LET THEM TALK ASSHOLES!". That was getting beyond irritating. You could tell it was bugging the actors too. Still looked like a fun time tbh.

I was smoking and drinking with some of the Walking Dead crew during the Talking Dead thing, so I have no idea about this.

For me one of the biggest let downs is the difference between comics Carl and show Carl. Comics Carl means business and is a killer. Also they could have had such a killer lineup.

Comics Andrea, Shane, Merle, Comics Carl, Michonne... They'd have just beaten Negan to death the first time they met.

But they didn't in the actual comics right? I mean I didn't read them that far in but I thought Negan was every bit the badass in the comics that they are making him out to be in the show right? And against that dream team lineup he still pounded them pretty good didn't he?

Shane never meets Negan, Melrs doesn't exist, Carl kills like 16 of his people and almost Negan, Andrea is a scarred sharp shooter and Negan spends a lot less time in front of this group doing the peacock thing. Because if he does they'll kill him.

Man this just keeps getting worse. That episode just flat out sucked. What the hell is going on? Crappy everything, writing, editing, cinematography, you name it they wrecked it. The only good thing was Morgan going all bad *** on everyone for a bit. Ugh. When will they end all this, does anyone have a guess? Just crap at this point.

I agree the plot is awful so far. They are taking a really long time to get into this fight. They are trying to be too creative with revealing what is happening and it makes it hard to care and hard to know what is actually going on. They seem like this episode was trying to delve into everyone's morality and push them, but it was not interesting.

The only part I liked as well is Morgan saying he doesnt die and then later standing up when he should be dead and going on a rampage. Then it ended with some silly 3 way conflict of morality with the prisoners. The King guys speeches are very boring and dumb, I just zone out.

I really hope they announce that the next season is the end so they can have some real direction and get moving quicker. I hate when they drag out scenes over a really long time and try to be creative with it. This is a zombie apocalypse show, stick to that.

Yeah this would be way better done with more grit and less artsy fartsy ****. Straightforward story-telling would work best with this topic IMO.

I agree with what most are saying. TWD seems to run out it's course and they just dragging it because there is devote fan base who still are interested in watching. They just need to end it after this season, Eugene or some crazy scientist outside of USA finds the cure and visits all the gang in Georgia like a Savior - hallelujah, done deal. Lets rebuild and move on.

TWD needs to get dumber. Bigger explosions, more zombies, more stuff that makes no sense, less dialogue. The shows #1 flaw is that it's way too serious.

And kill Negan ASAP. I'm so tired of his dialogue. "You got your ****ting pants on cuz you're about to **** your pants"? I know I just said I wanted the show to be less serious, but it has to actually be funny when it's funny.

are you srs?

the show has flaws. but the reason for tha tline is negan uses it in the comic books. so it is for those who know the comic books. i think he siad that really often in the comics. been a while since i read out all war. but yeah it is a tribute/throwback or plain staying true to comics

No he didn't meet that line up.

Merle doesn't exist, Shane is already dead. Carl handled himself really well. In the comics he hides away in a truck like he did in the show. But in the comics he kills like a dozen guys with a rifle instead of 1 dude with a pistol.

I'd have loved to see how a Shane led group with people like previous Carol, Comics Carl and Merle backing him up would have handled this.
