The War On Christmas Just Got REAL!

Me too. And we sit and celebrate with my atheistic family. Nobody ever talks about religious meaning of it, it's just and occasion for us to spend time together and open gifts.

Until the War to Force Christianity Down the Throats of All Americans started (better known as "the war on christmas") I felt pretty much the same way. But since it's now a point in the minds of many right wing religious zealots to "defend" Christmas, I'm not going to play along. I've been on the fence as far as telling my in-laws that I'm not participating in Christmas activities, but this year I'm not participating in Christmas activities. I don't like it in the first place and it has no meaning for me in the second place.

Those people he's supposedly pandering to? That's my group yo, my people. Literally nobody I know is talking about it. Nobody cares. That's what I'm trying to say,

I look forward to you telling me what fundamentalist Christians think tho.

fundamentalist Christians are not one and the same. I am not one to generalize. He is pandering to a strong base of voters who are Christian and feel like their Christian values are constantly being attacked. You are fundamentalist-- but there isn't just one type of fundamentalist Christian out there. You denying the existence of this group is crazy dog.

Checkmate

cute.

If there is a video of Trump making this stupid comment and the audience cheering (I assume there is because Dal says there is, but I don't care to search) I'll bet that if you interviewed the actual people who cheered today, most of them would say it was a stupid comment. Just because the people listening to Trump are entertained by him (and respond the way all people do when they are entertained) does not mean that they agree with every word that comes out of his unfiltered mouth once they have an opportunity to process it.

impressive mental gymnastics my friend

i don't celebrate it. I watch basketball. Still have no idea why you can't wish a good day to those who do.

I didn't say it didn't exist, I said it was an extreme minority.

Keep up.

I always say Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. I know it is important to them so why not.

keep looking through those rose-tinted glasses. I have never heard of a leading politician tryign to win votes by pandering to extreme minorities.

Then you don't follow politics much. If you truly think this is anything other than a minority movement, then you are beyond jaded/biased. But don't trust me, I'm just an American citizen that's part of the group you're talking about. Good thing I have all these people with so much experience in America to teach me. Thanks Dala!

if you think that this is a 'extreme minority movement' that a politician is spending millions (potentially) to cater to, then you are beyond jaded/biased. It:'s the truth.

Frankly, anyone who claims to be a "Christian" and celebrates a "pagan" based celebration or "holiday" based on a pagan concept.....is not a "Christian", just a "converted" pagan! When you embrace a celebration or holiday that was started by a pagan religion you become the "pagan" worshiper not a supporter of true Christianity! So, as with Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and other "pagan" based customs or celebrations, the pagans "converted" the so called Christians.....not visa versa, you follow me?....make sense?

1) I don't know how else I can convince you. I'm part of the group you're talking about, and by and large, we don't care. The poll numbers indicate it's a minority movement. Most articles are talking about the outrage of the supposed outrage. Keep on being oblivious if you want, but the truth is out there if you want to look for it.

2) Lets actually look at what Trump said. I didn't even look it up earlier because quite frankly I don't care what Trump says, but here it is: "No more 'Merry Christmas' at Starbucks. No more," Trump said, noting that the coffee giant is among his tenants at Trump Tower in Manhattan. "Maybe we should boycott Starbucks. I don't know. Seriously. I don't care. By the way: That's the end of that lease. But who cares? Who cares? Who cares?" He's obviously pandering, but I have to wonder, do they teach what the word "maybe" means in Canada? Or did you just read the headline? He's out there saying "Who cares?" Facts. They don't matter.

3) What I'm trying to get at here Dala, is did you ever suppose that maybe because I do live here that I might have a little more perspective than you? I know, I know. You read about it an article, or in a textbook. It qualifies you as an expert. Maybe you should listen to people a little more though. Just saying. I know I wouldn't want to come over here and tell you how Muslims think, especially if you disagreed with it.
