What's new

This season will vindicate Ty Corbin

It's much more likely the Jazz would still be playing like uninspired trash if Corbin was still here. Of course it's hard for me to talk since I could barely bring myself to watch Corbin-led teams. I just know that whenever I did it was so sad and disappointing and the coach was so clearly clueless that I had to immediately turn it off. What a sad time it was to be a Jazz fan.

fortunately, DL had the courage and patience to stay with the Looser, aka Ty, the full year to complete the tank. Got us Exum. I think it could have cost us hayward, but they were able to hold him fortunately. I think if Ty was back and Hay had a choice, he was gone. He just looked very PO'd the end of last year in every game, being asked to be the hero with no system to support him.

Quin was preaching defense, but stuck starting Kanter and Burke until Gobert and Exum proved up to the task. Many thought Gobert was too raw for extended minutes and nearly everyone thought Exum would bust hard in the starting lineup. Kudos to Quin for having faith in his guys.

Again. When your starting center and starting PG refuse to play defense any middle of the road coach will put in different players. This is in no way some genius move by Quin. Don't get me wrong; I like quin, but really any jr high school coach could recognize poor defensive effort and try someone else.

That said, I still think Quin is beyond Ty in coaching ability. He takes more time to overtly talk to his players, he isn't as rigid with subs and roles, and I think he uses time outs and manages the clock better. I think you could also make a case for him being better for player development.

Quin is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ty. That is part of the reason they have been able to improve so much. Ty was making them perform way below their potential. An average NBA quality coach would have gotten much better results last year, and they would have improved a lot this year. Quin is a cut above that and has them hitting on all cylinders. And one of our disappointments, clunkers = Ty's guy Trey Burke.

Corbin is a bad HC....maybe isn't a HC...
Defense was horrible, he loves the poor veterans....
I remember a game where Burks has got 20 points at the end of the 3rd quarter...
He was on the bench in the 4th quarter...

It's ok Franklin. Everyone picks a loser.
One more person who has failed to read Franklin's posts in this thread. Dude didn't pick Corbin, didn't have a problem with him being fired, and is satisfied with Quin.

I don't understand why inserting a new system should raise the win threshold, however. If anything, starting from scratch should lower expectations. Look what's going on in Atlanta in Year Two...

Also, Quin didn't stick with Kanter until Gobert proved up to the task. He stuck with Kanter until the FO dealt him.

Why couldn't you take after your mother, the socialist?

Also; Tl;dr

Also; why would you NOT want to give Franklin crap?

Quin in half a season has done more (with less mind you) than Ty did in 4 seasons towards developing that defensive identity.

This

Ty was bawse in Sacramento too

I hate to break it to everyone but before Rudys emergence our defense sucked. Quin may have been preaching defense but it took a player with defense in his blood to get the ball rolling.
Hate to break it to you, but that same player was on the roster last year and got neglected

As for Rudy, we have no idea how he looked in practice, and he didn't really show all that much in the spot minutes he received last season.
I disagree.
I thought he looked better than marvin and evans and should have got thier minutes while also allowing favors and kanter to play power forward where they are better suited
