Thread where we get way too hyped about Donovan Mitchell off-season workouts

He's the face of the league now!
He is definitely the best face of the Jazz we have had in 2 decades. Couldn't ask for a better brand ambassador. This is hands-down the most likable roster we have had in a very long time.

Are you being serious?....and if so....please. Fine tuning his 3s is something he needs to do, and as far as his legs, Donovan has one of the strongest bodies of any young player I’ve ever seen especially at his size, and it doesn’t happen on accident it comes from his work ethic. He’s doing just fine and it’s not like he’s posted his entire workout. If there’s one thing I certainly don’t question it’s Donovans work ethic and drive to improve himself. The Jazz are in better hands with Donovan as their face than they have been since Stockton and Malone. Seriously, let’s get half way through next season before we worry he didn’t work on enough. You have no evidence to say he isn’t going to improve dramatically next season until it actually happens.
I don't see why you're so hard on Donovan all the time.

While Russell Westbrook's explosiveness reminds me of a rabid pitbull, Donovan Mitchell reminds me of a creature that has the atleticism of a pitbull and feelings of a golden retreiver. Dude is like a super hero. I need to see him make some mistakes before I can believe that he is human.

Below is the heat map for Donovan Mitchell's threes in the 17-18 season. Remember this shows the areas from where he shot most often, not the accuracy.

By the way his accuracy from corners is a bit over 50%, better than Joe Ingles.

If he gets efficient above the break and can get guys to set him up for a few more catch and shoot threes it’s over.

I was thinking 25/5/4 is a good season , but I might be really lowballing him. He might push 28ish a game with improved shooting and a couple more free throws per game. I’d settle for less raw #s and more efficiency.

To me that 'messy' heat map signals he kind of experimented with his 3P in his rookie year and there is a lot of room for improvement because when you see the league's established stars they almost universally have a much more definite shooting areas/spots. For example they seem to avoid the spot where the 3P line has a sharp corner (curve becomes straight line).
