Timeline on the New Logo

Well, with what I've been reading, the note will be the de facto primary logo. "Officially", the mountain is still the main logo and will be at center court. The jerseys and all the other stuff will have the yet to be revealed note.

But it's still the primary logo. It's not as if the current logo is on the jerseys anyway. In fact, not many teams have their logo on their jerseys.

Basically, the logo is an adjustment of the boring UTAH and JAZZ font seen on the home/away jerseys currently.

This isn't a logo change. It's a uniform change and a revamping of the same logo.

That's the problem. I think we were all under the impression Utah would be changing its logo. Not just updating its secondary logo. So while others will incorporate the note, it still won't be the primary logo.

Maybe it seems trivial (however, the fact we're all anticipating a logo change kind of defeats that argument), but I was expecting a total overhaul. Not just a color change and a bit more emphasis on the secondary logo.

Well, take this for what it's worth...this was from Greg Miller's last mailbag:

Hi Greg this is Mike, I am a huge Jazz fan! It’s driving me crazy that I don't know what the new colors and uniforms are for 2011. Could you just give me a heads up on what we are expecting?


Mike, your question has been noted. (That’s a clue). The new logo will be unveiled in mid-June, with new merchandise available at FANZZ the minute it’s released. The new uniforms will not be unveiled until mid-August."

I believe the logo change has been in the works for while which would make Utah exempt from paying the fine if I understand correctly.
 
One way or another, I hope they can make the green unis the official alternate. While I did kinda like the baby blues aesthetically, the Jazz record in them was awful, and they looked too much like the Nuggets.
 
I don't know, I really don't think the new logo will look like what was posted. Mostly because that looks terrible. Sounds like a hoax to me.

And come on, the team paid like $6M in luxury tax alone last season. $500,000, if that rule is even true, is pocket change at this point. That's what they paid Sundiata Gaines to sit on his butt this season. $500k in the NBA doesn't mean jack, I hardly would think they would use that as an excuse to not change the logo.

However, if true and that's the new logo.. wow. Fail.

Yeah, I have to say I'll be sticking with my old gear if that's the new logo. I don't even know what to say...
