Top Teams that could be interested in a trade for Al Jefferson?

Do you think Cleveland would be open to trading the 4th pick for Al Jefferson? I think Cleveland could use a veteran guy in the middle but I am not sure if Cleveland would want to do that since they are more than just one guy away from being competitive.

Who do you think would be the top teams that would be interested in Big Al that could offer something of value in return? I think what we are looking for is either young players or draft picks. For example, I am sure that Miami would love him but there is nothing there that we would want.

Any team interested in Al can give us a TPE and a future 2nd rounder. We're not going to get much more than that, he's expensive and because he's expiring he's not particularly valuable to a team that would actually like to keep him.

If the Jazz could shed Al and get he #4 pick I would also throw in the GSW pick and another future first rounder.

With that #4 pick you could be looking at getting MKG, Beal, Robinson or Drummond. Yes, two of those names would be gone but that also means that two would be left over.

If this was real I would be jumping for joy.

First you ask if we could get the 4th pick, then in your next post say we aren't going to get much for him... Did you forget to log into your alt. account??

Thee jazz fan,

Show me where I said in my post, "we aren't going to get much for him."

If you take the time to read the post with a elementary grade level of comprehension, what I said was I didn't think that Cleveland would trade a top draft pick for Jefferson. That is significantly different than you stated.

he apparently thinks that mdalby is the same as mhindy. That's where his misread occurred.

I have an inside source that says we have a few teams that are interested. I can't say much but a couple of the teams were the Utah blaze and the los angelos stars. Will update when I know more.

Anyways, I think the expectations for what we could bring back from a Big Al trade are pretty out of whack in this thread. I don't really see him as a positive asset and would bet that the vast majority of GMs feel the same.

mhindy,

I just don't see why a 20 and 10 guy is not being considered a positive asset. He has stats to be in the top handful of centers in the league. 20 and 10 is something that I think the Clippers would have loved to have. DeAndre Jordan is so overrated. He has a nice dunk every other game and that is about it.

We may be able to trade him to the DNC when they release the "Ballin' for 'bama" campaign later this fall. Not sure what exactly we could get out of the deal, but it'd be a move nonetheless.

Jesus Christ. Al has value around the league. The way you make it sound, he will have to find work in puerto Rico after next season.

Were the Jazz willing to take on salary his expiring contract would have value. Maybe something like Harris and Jefferson for Okafor and Jack.

But, I'm not thinking the Jazz want to take on any salary this year.

Al isn't bringing back anything like the 4th pick, but he's nowhere close to getting salary dumped for a 2nd. He's worth more than that, without a doubt. However, I think Jazz fans who want him traded are going to be disappointed. If Utah had traded him at the deadline, I think there's a good chance they'd have two top 10 lotto picks in addition to what they would have gotten for Al. Waiting to lose the picks and then deciding to trade him would make our FO look like they don't know what the hell they're doing. I'm guessing they will keep both Al and Sap, and make another push for a late seed/early playoff exit again.

The problem is this:
29 teams know we want to trade Milsap or Jefferson. Most teams prefer Milsap to Jefferson. We likely won't give Sap up. I'd be surprised if it happens. Anyways, they all think we're desperate to trade him and that lowers Jefferson's value a ton. Teams definately could do with a skilled big like Jefferson (Especially teams who have the Hasheem Thabeets and Kwame Browns). We hate him for his PnR defense, but if you saw the Clippers Spurs series, then you know it's not only Jefferson.
Teams send us crappy offers for Jefferson knowing that we're desperate and I doubt KOC makes a desperation trade

So we're either going to look at a desperate attempt to trade Al or he's staying with the Jazz 1 more season.

We acquired Big Al for 2 first-rounders and Boom Bitches.

I'm wonder:
1. Can we trade for at least the same (10-20 range)?
2. Were Timberwolves desperate at that point? I mean, c'mon - you don't trade 20/10 guys like that. You trade them for a reason.
