People who want to disregard the message will find an excuse to disregard it. This is an easy thing to point at. Anyone who actually cares about the people and the message will understand that not everyone is doing this for the same reason. If you want to find something so you can feel justified in being okay with letting these things happen then go ahead.

So you're saying people can only care about the message if the condone this type of extreme and destructive behavior?

I would think the gun nuts, conservatives, and libertarian types would be supportive of these protests. Haven’t they been whining all the time about big government suppression taking away rights? I haven’t seen a more authoritarian acts from our government in my lifetime than the past few days. It’s interesting that they’re no where in sight after claiming for years that they’d protect us against authoritarians.
 
Also, any theories as to why journalists keep getting attacked by police?

No, I am saying people who actually care will care and try to help if they care about the people. Those that dont will try to distract and point out other issues. I dont think the other things are helping but the fact that people care more about that shows that they dont actually care about the real message and just want to divert attention. Yes, if it was a perfect protest it would get attention and cause the right amount of change without violence or destruction. If it needs violence and destruction like many protest have then it would cause the perfect amount. This one might be a little more than some would like but its impossible to get the perfect amount and its impossible to get everyone on the same page and other people/groups not doing dumb things. But for those that care they can see what the message is and try to help make change.
