Trade Confirmed: Jazz get jack for Bogey

I actually understand this one more than the THT deal. KO is one of Danny's guys so I think he thinks much more of him than any of us or other teams would. We saved money in this deal and have a minimal obligation next year... THT is surely opting in next year... he's not good. We also did that trade at a really weird time.
THT at least fit the youth movement. I doubt he turns out well, but we were still going to lack good youth at the guard spots if we traded with the Knicks. So why not give him a lot of burn and see if it doesn’t work out.

This trade blocks the youth movement of two young centers at the cost of our greatest remaining asset.

If it got us under the luxury tax I’d understand… but we were already under it. If KO was under 25 this could make sense too.

No picks and one extra player added to the roster. Now we have to cut SEVERAL players to finalize the 15 man roster. The rotation chart next year is gonna be a ***********.

Then things are going to plan.
Tank note.

Lakers might want conley. They would need a pg if they trade westbrook right?
And we would need a big salary like conleys to try to match right?

Didn’t they just sign Dennis Schröder? So at pg they have that Reeves, and Pat Bev as well. That’s three descent pgs that need playing time, unless the jazz need a small white pg to go with all those white stuff centers they got.

I'm not even sure it makes us worse... the drop off from Bogey to Lauri/Simone may not be as big as the drop off between Kessler/Doke and KO.

This is not a tank move imo. This hurts the tank.
I agree. Going by the performance this summer in EuroBasket and the World Cup qualifiers, Bogey was clearly the inferior player compared to Lauri/Simone.
This trade seems to clear up the situation who will be the first choices for the 3 and 4 positions (Lauri and Simone are pretty much interchangeable on them) while Olnyk at center should be a very good fit with both of them.

Great post.
This is a real head scratcher

Our young centers are *** lmao. If they are good enough they will find a way. KO isnt blocking anything if they have actual talent.

@Handlogten's Heros is this a down payment?
No... I mean yes... Ryan now frees up some cash to make a down payment on that vacation home in Destin.

Let me put my super deep conspiracy theory cap on... hold on... something is coming in....

This was a trade to make a little noise to pull some of the news breakers off of the Udoka news.

Sorry its all I could muster.

WTF? It's a charity from our part. Also feel sorry for Bogey for going to Detroit, he deserves to be on a contender.

I guess the Jazz really didnt want Landry Shamet's ****** deal like I said.
I'm guessing business in Phoenix is hard right now... I know they said they are active and all that but signing on for more tax would be hard given their ownership disruption.

Also, Shamet's deal >>> THT's deal.
