Trade deadline discussion

If you were to get Morris or Smart I think Royce has to be in the deal. He might be the sweetner with the expiring contracts that help make it worthwhile.
I'd do it. My all-in moves are getting both those guys. Keep DM, Rudy, Bojan, and Mike, and use whatever combo of what's left to get those guys.

JC is a player the Clippers might want more than most teams. They have a huge tax bill, but if they are taking a gap deal JC for Batum+Ibaka makes some sense for them.

We are not getting Morris.

The other thing is that if you trade ****, you can only expect to get **** back. So while I understand why people are throwing JC, Ingles, and Royce’s name out there more…you’re or going to get much for a player whose value is tanking.

It hurts more to trade Bogey/Conley, but that is the only way we’re getting a decent player back. If you’re not willing to move one of those guys, you have to be ok settling with what we have because JC/Ingles in particular are not going to have buyers and yield a ton. Last summer? Maybe, but definitely not now.

I know there’s no way Oklahoma City would trade him, but I seriously covet Josh Giddey. No way to get him, but I think he has a higher ceiling than Mitchell.

I think something could be built around Conley for Smart. Boston might want more a floor general out there than Shroeder. I think Smart has more value due to age and contract, but Boston might be pretty desperate.
Conley is almost exactly what Boston needs, i think I’d probably do that deal. The question is if Conley is too old for their timeline; they’ve been such a train wreck that they’d probably want his leadership regardless. I would hope Schroeder could be rerouted, I don’t want him anywhere near the Jazz.

I also screwed up this lineup:

Mitchell
Simmons
Bojan
Morris
Gobert

You can bitch about spacing all you want, but Simmons will score at the basket, be a gigantic body to throw the easy lob to Gobert, or if there’s any paint-crowding, you’ve got Donovan, Morris, and Bojan for kickouts.
My god this post is a giant waste of your time and space on the board. Wake up from your dream

that's why Conley and Bogey are the more likely trade candidates based on Danny Ainge's way of business model. Trading low-end guys like JC, Jingles, Royce won't yield us any game changer. You gotta have the guts to give up one of your best players in order to get some real results. of course there's huge risk involved and this kind of trade could backfire easily. But taking a gamble at this point is better than treading the dead water, with the best outcome being a second round exit

I was sorely disappointed at how bad Cedi Osman looked tonight. I thought he was a potential trade target. He's not a starting-caliber player.

I still think the Jazz should try to plunder the Rockets. Their owner is cheap, they're trying to lose, and they want future draft picks.

I think we can sell them on Jared Butler as a local hero and backcourt partner for Jalen Green.

Let’s talk about Marcus Smart. What would he fetch in a deal and what does Boston need? Same for Marcus Morris.
