Trade deadline discussion

I am so incredibly bored with the current iteration of the Utah Jazz.
It has sadly become a selfish culture. Locke has talked about this a lot. Guys are afraid if they give the ball up they won’t get it back, so they just throw up 3s whenever they touch the ball. It’s killed the chemistry completely.

This team had incredible ball movement last year, especially the first half of the season. How did they go from that to this?

I miss the ball movement so much. The offense was so fun to watch last year.

If we still want to be in the championship window over the next couple of years then Ben Simmons is who we need. The reward is far greater than the risk. He adds versatility, a clear 3rd star, more importantly he adds all of what we need additional offense, ball handling, defense, rebounding. Philly unlikely to be given many better offers than Conley and Bojan who both can help Embid win now.

Barnes and Len from the Kings would cover two of those bases. I think Trent Forrest can defend guards.

We need someone in the starting lineup that can defend guards. When everyone is healthy Forrest is only going to play like 5-10 minutes. Royce really struggles against quick guards as we witnessed again tonight when he was guarding Booker. We need someone like Marcus Smart.

Coach has allowed it and done nothing to promote anything different.

Funny thing is the least selfish this team has played was during the Toronto game and during the first Phx game this week. Our scrubs share the ball and move well on offense and are active on defense. As soon as our regulars come in the game things gets sluggish and bogged down, with low energy and low confidence, but worse, no hustle at all. Clarkson is a sparkplug but he is a one-man show kind of spark plug where everyone else ball-watches.

I wonder how much of this is the fact that we do so much iso or drive and kick so the team is just used to watching the ball-handler dribble around so they get complacent knowing he will either kick it out or force up an ugly contested shot?

Seriously why isn't Quin enforcing the blender? That was a far better game plan, move the ball around, get the team moving, make the extra pass, and get others involved in the offense. Our assist rate is abysmal compared to last year. Has he even seen Hoosiers?

But instead we get endless drive and force or drive and kick when they shouldn't. I yelled at the screen last night when Conley made it all the way to the rim, literally had a 3 foot bunny with the defender on his heels, and mid-air he turned and threw it right to Phx. What the actual ****?

I know we were missing our best players, but this kind of stuff shows the offense schemes are broken, it isn't just the players on the court. Without any of our regular guys the scrubs moved the ball a lot better than we did last night. We also left 2 shooters/playmakers sitting on the bench all night in Hughes and Butler, who had both had really good stretches in the past few games, both with shooting and making plays/passes for others. But they sit on the bench while Bogey in obvious pain tried to muscle through, and why? Seriously, why? What was the ****ing point?

Snyder needs to go. His little tantrum shows he doesn't know how to control the team or hold them accountable and that he has, in fact, lost them. Time for some new blood in the coach's chair.

Some information on John Collins

One team contacted by Atlanta regarding Collins told Bleacher Report the Hawks were only seeking a valuable first-round pick and a starting-caliber player in exchange for the talented young forward.

****ing bananas.

Figure it out, Ainge. I think the fit would be awesome, and if it’s not, at least he’s young and still tradable.
