Trade deadline discussion

Everyone here realizes that Grant has pretty much said he wants to be the man on whatever team he’s on, right? I don’t see: a. how we have the assets to get him b. why they’d trade him or c. and this is a distant c, how that acquisition makes sense….though tbh, I think he could easily be convinced to be Don’s Robin.

Good post. You're right, a big hesitation about Grant could be that he wants to be a focal point or the focal point of the offense.

There’s about 15-25 individual guys in the league who fit the mold of what we really need. Some are off limits. Lebron, Durant, Giannis, etc. He’s a guy who’s not completely out of the realm of possibilities. Maybe for us since our assets suck. But not out of the question. Stop pretending like he is you ****ing twit.

Joe is one of my all-time favorite Jazz players, but if he really is as washed as he looks right now then they pretty much have to move him. Even if it's just for a second round pick or something... open up minutes in the rotation for guys like House and Paschall and help with the tax. I absolutely that that it's come to this, but the guy just looks completely cooked.
I've said this many of times he is toast and frustrated as f

Player ages:
-Collins 24
-Mitchell 25
-Wood 26
-Grant 27
-Smart 27
-Barnes 29
-Harris 29
-Gobert 29
-Bojan 32
-Conley 34

This should strongly factor into what the Jazz do in the coming months.

The biggest problem is we don't have enough assets to move the needle.

Giving up two picks and Crowder for Conley was a huge mistake. I like Conley, just thought he was too old, paid too much and too small to complement our backcourt at the time, and losing Crowder for his reasonable salary was a big loss. I don't think anyone else would give near as much for him, so we are basically stuck with him or get little in return.

I still think the focus should be moving JC, Ingles and Royce at this point.

Like a highlight reel of all the little things this team needs most badly.

By the way, I think the Jazz could really offer the best pick since lifting (some?) protections on the pick we owe is probably their strongest path to getting a high-end 1st for him and since they already have more picks in quantity than they will know what to do with. They need to figure out a way to get (consolidate info fewer if necessary) higher-value assets.

Of the options realistically obtainable I would like to end up with Marcus Smart, Kenrich Williams, and Danuel House.

And I don’t care how many men, women,
and children Danny Ainge has to kill to get it.
