Trade Partners for TB

I watched a lot of games, that is more significant than a highlight reel that can make anyone look a HOFer. TB is slow and unathletic. He does not "blow by" people, he does not dunk, he is very poor on the fastbreak opportunities.

If he can dunk, and does blow by people in highlight reels then he has athleticism. Even if he only uses his athleticism sometimes, he still has it. Highlight reels do make players look better but they dont make them more athletic than they are. Either you can dunk or you cant.

i thought this was intereting to read in retrospect....

Extremely fast in the open floor, Burke is an excellent ball-handler, capable of playing at different speeds and showing a terrific burst blowing by opponents en-route to the rim. He does a good job of keeping his dribble alive and weaving his way around traffic, which allows him to draw the defense and find open shooters spotting up on the wing or cutters diving to the basket.

While much more of a scorer than a pure playmaker at this stage, Burke is capable of creating for others as well, doing a good job reading the floor and anticipating teammates getting open. He makes smart passes ahead in transition, and is very effective in particular on the drive and dish.

Burke's best weapon offensively revolves around his jump-shot, as he has very good shooting mechanics, and is equally effective spotting up with his feet set as he is pulling up off the dribble. He in fact took almost twice as many jumpers off the dribble last season as he did with his feet set, but made both at nearly the same rate (38-39%).

Yup, see this all the time. Guys have a player that hate and think he has no talent but want to trade him for Lebron and 3 number ones.

I would happily trade him to anyone in the WC as a trojan horse stealth bomb, kinda like Kanter. They have some value, but their overall impact is negative to whomever they are playing for.

I'm more realistic... I just want Lebron and 2 number ones. I think we can make this happen.

You're blowing this way out of proportion. My comment was that getting rid of Burke was addition by subtraction.

After that you ran with what you thought I meant and it wasn't at all what I meant.

Sometimes I wonder do people even read what they type. Your comment was "I agree, just like Kanter". I replied pointing out some differences between Kanter when he was traded and Burke. You then replied to me saying that wasn't what you were talking about. I answered saying the miscommunication was due to a lack of detail in your post. Which my points are still valid about Kanter and Burke situation with the team.

I vote that burke is short, slow, and unathletic

Maybe he thinks the rims are lower in college.

He has basically said I don't care if there's video evidence of me being inaccurate. Those videos are just made to make him look good therefore they aren't valid.

What I have said is that I have watched many jazz games over the last 2 years and have seen that Tb is slow and unathletic. I then asked "When was the last time you have seen him dunk?" , meaning obviously in a Jazz game, not a college highlight reel. I never said he could never dunk the ball. If he is so athletic why have we never seen him dunk as a jazz team member?

Stockton couldn't dunk either, this is the part of his game that concerns me the least.

He dunks in warmup sometimes.

Also are you saying he used to be athletic in College but now he isnt because he doesnt dunk in the NBA... ?

Who cares if he dunks? He shoots 38%/31%, ignores teammates who are open, dribbles down the shot clock before going 1-on-3, takes the 2nd most shots on the team and plays with the pace of my grandma. Dunking in a game isn't going to change that. He was a bad draft pick and it's time to move on.

We did give him two years to develop. I guess we should give up on that high draft pick. Hope Exum is really good this year otherwise we will have to give up on him too. Wish we had given up on Favors, he was not good after 2 years.

The stats that I posted earlier was from Steve Nash's 3rd year in the league. Two teams gave up on Nash. Luckily for Phoenix they got him back. It's insane to think a player that spent two years in college in two more as a pro is finished developing. I can understand the pessimism as it relates to Burke. But a lot of the comments just come off as illogical hate.
