Yes, most of agree this was a necessary and overall good trade.

Stop trying to sell it to us as anything great. DA/Utah played this about as badly as they could have. I'm glad they did what needed to be done, but they didnt take the optimal route on this one.

DA took 3 quarters and traded for a dollar. Cleared cap space. He preserved the tank... while getting 55 games of competitive basketball and growth. He quite literally couldn't have played it better.

Was it better to just keep those guys... trade them individually for like 7 second round picks or get protected picks and take bad salary.

The pick being unprotected in 2028 changes this a lot. But this is not a masterclass of a trade and not butthole either.

Fanbases are trained to see the now over the future, especially when the now is players they've watched and grown to enjoy. The entire league was SALIVATING over that pick. We tried and failed to get it with Bogdonavich and Conley. Now we get it for Conley and the throw-ins from the Gobert trade.

This is an extremely valuable asset.
 
I truly hope we trade the pick sooner than later. I think the perceived value will be more than the actual pick turns out to be.



I also love that we are “monitoring the Luka situation”. Just us though, amirite?
