That is one of the weirdest trades I’ve seen sure it’s a salary dump for someone.
Thunder saved around 7M which is pretty wild.
Everything in that deal is expiring except ~$2M for the next two years on Maledon and $5M for two years on Nwaba. Not sure if either of those are options or non-guarantees.
So the Thunder didn’t have to attach picks to move Favors?
Get this… a 2025 2nd round pick. I know we don’t know what those are because we seemingly never have any but apparently they can grease the wheels on a trade.

They took back salary and we obviously paid a price for the extra year but yeah that signing/trade is so rough.

OKC might have wanted a couple medium contracts… think most of the guys they traded were going to get cut… Houston wanted the pick. Theo sucks… he getting cut I bet.
Us, the Thunder and the Rockets all have 18 players with guaranteed contracts. A lot of guys are going to get waived.
