So the Heat paid a 2nd rounder to get off 5 million of salary
Heat were inches away from the tax... so its quite helpful. I'm guessing they sent cash too.So the Heat paid a 2nd rounder to get off 5 million of salary
What if… we did a version of both? Mike/JC/KO to LA. Beasley Vando to NY. Only take one pick back from the Lakers….
Like o said yesterday… I’d tell both teams we have our hands in a lot of deals… we need their best offer today and we will pick one… with how the NY deal went down no one will call DAs bluff if they really want the deal.
From Tim MacMahon’s article that just dropped on ESPN this morning.

Ahead of trade deadline, focused Jazz remind 'it's our job to listen'
Utah's priority is to build a contender for years to come, but can it do so straddling the playoff line and also stocked with picks and flexibility?www.espn.com
I guess he can wait until he is past his prime at this point? No sense in forfeiting his next contract doing a mandatory service that doesn't actually require anything from him besides time anyway no?The Finns have the highest % of the population willing to defend the country whatever it takes in Europe (perhaps the world). I'm pretty sure Lauri is no different. But the military service for top athletes is just basic boot camp, shooting practice etc. The only con is that it takes up time, six months - which doesn't fit into any NBA players' schedule. (That's why almost all the future pros try to get it of the way right when they hit 18)
Conley, Beasley, stuff for Westbrook and 2 picks (doubt we get two picks)That is a long-*** MacMahon article. What are the trades?
It’s on the webz so it’s as good as true. Pull the trigger.Conley, Beasley, stuff for Westbrook and 2 picks (doubt we get two picks)
Beasley/Vando for Fournier Toppin and a pick or picks - My guess is if it is picks plural it is Det and Was protected picks. If it is one pick I'd bet its Ny or Dallas pick this year... and we might move one of our other picks on draft night or do a move up deal.
I would do the Westbrook one if we could only do one deal. Its the tank maneuver... the league won't complain cuz it helps bron and the Lakers be competitive... Hell the league office might kick in a compensatory pick for being team players.
He has to get it sorted, one way or another, before he turns 30. "No exceptions" is kinda the point. No "bone spurs" or "I'm rich". 70 % of men do military service, most of the rest a sort of civil service (which is twice as long) - and more and more women do military service voluntarily (for practically no pay).I guess he can wait until he is past his prime at this point? No sense in forfeiting his next contract doing a mandatory service that doesn't actually require anything from him besides time anyway no?
I am kind of surprised Finns don't offer exceptions for high profile individuals that represent their country in different ways. Not even counting the obvious ability to be recognizable,he would stand out like a sore thumb if he actually had to join the front in any kind of skirmish let alone war. I guess he will just be carted around like a hero to motivate the rest?
