Imagine if they back out and Russell knows he could have been back in LA and he's stuck in Minny... might be the best case scenario for us as he could be highly unmotivated.

Yeah again, typing to quick at work, his contract is a 3yr deal that has 1.5yrs left

Only $300,000 guaranteed in 2023/24

There are so many little details regarding this deal. As constructed the Lakers would go 4.4M more into the tax. Minnesota saves 8.6M and we gain 8.8M while going into the tax. There has to be more pieces involved. I guess it could work if the Lakers are fine with the extra tax payment and we negotiate a buyout with Westbrook that takes us back under the tax.
