Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz may be circling each other in a potential deal, writes Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The Sixers are reportedly targeting Jazz big man Jarred Vanderbilt in a swap that would deal defensive-minded swingman Matisse Thybulle to Utah, Pompey reports. Aside from Vanderbilt, the Sixers are also showing interest in Detroit Pistons center Nerlens Noel and former 76ers center Andre Drummond
Do this. We will be losing 3 players and buying out the returning Westbrook.

That leaves space for Moody, and Wiseman and possibly thybulle if the Lakers grab someone other than Vanderbilt.

Dump Dok and Gay for a ham sandwich and a drink.

Russ has under 20 million left this year so using the contract buyout extension rule it would be 20 million divided by 3 years. That means we can pay Russ 6.5+ this year and the cap hit is lowered by 13+ million. I think we could in theory take on more salary if we buy out Westbrook. The Jazz just pay 6.5 million for 3 seasons this season included.

This is what I would guess the players in the deal will be. 1 unprotected pick from the Lakers to Utah... some seconds to Minny. Also Jeannie gets to give DWade a full body massage.

I'd take it over nothing, but it'd be hard thinking we're giving up all our tradable guys, plus the illustrious NAW, for only one pick. Beggars can't be choosers, but I'd hoped to have gotten a few more assets out of the rest of those guys. An unprotected LA pick is great, but with only one of them, what if they end up having a good year? You may be able to milk more value out of that using it as currency in another move. Risky, though.
