Gonna shift my main focus to Tre, Ace, and VJ until it looks like we could draft anyone else. DX still has Fears 5 so maybe. I feel like I’ve been very skeptical of Tre, but it could be because I’ve done the most on him and if I did more on the others I’d also come back more skeptical.

Sort of my thinking as well, though I have watched a lot of VJ as well. Ace, very little, but the story I have told myself is he doesn’t play NBA winning basketball, but I’ll dig in more soon.
I probably watched Ace the most during the actual season but the least since the season. I wouldn’t say I’ve formed my full opinion on him, but I get the impression that my rating on him will be “it depends on what he’s willing to change”. Don’t love him doubling down on his bad habits in interviews. Definitely seems to be a hard worker, but don’t know if he wants to work on the right things.
I have this nagging feeling in the back of my head that there is something off with Ace. I cant point my finger on one thing and prove my point with solid arguments... but my gut says he is 2025 drafts overadvertized promiseware.

My general feeling right now:
Ace - Has the best tools, also has the worst game RN. If you see him as a ball of clay, he's a fantastic prospect. If he's not willing/capable of learning, not great.
VJ - Love the archetype, skill level leaves a lot to be desired, might just be A- athlete instead of A+. Think he will be a good player you want on your team in all outcomes.
Tre - One of the best shooting prospects I can remember, very concerned about his defense, potential lies in ability to attack the rim. I'm skeptical on that last part, but I'm often very wrong.

I’m think he might be the Jonathan Kuminga/Jalen Green “If This Guy Puts it All Together Watch Out” Award winner this year.
I see what his believers see in him I am just doubtful it comes together.
What about Kuminga and Green do you think is holding them back? It it just the BBIQ? I feel like they're lacking in some skill development, but I think both have awesome talent. I used to joke that Cade was seen as Luka until the season started and he actually had to play basketball, but he did actually put it all together. Don't know if there's a real trend or model to be followed, but I do think Cade has always been a more intelligent player than the other two.

I cannot hang my hat on any one of those things with him. I left out midrange shooting since that is actually a thing I could hang my hat on with him. But thats the tool of the 90s, which SGA, Demar Derozan and select few others are keeping alive but with this age of analytics everyone else just keeps hunting for 3s or dunks.

That’s why Tony Jones had said Ace will be available at #5.
I also read some other Athletic reporter saying that he has sensed that NBA execs like VJ better than Ace.
If Ace is available at 5 though, Zanik will sprint to the podium faster than he did with Cody. There is no way DA passes on Ace, ever.
