What's new

Trevor Booker

Eh, I like Booker, but if the time came when we needed him, he would still be available. He's not going anywhere. And if no one else is signing him right now, we don't need to either.

I wish that the Jazz could have kept him when he left. Honestly though, a 31 year old player that relies on athleticism and doesn't provide shooting isnt what the Jazz need right now.

Booker at the 4, ok. Booker at the 5? Give me Bradley

Besides that he’s bigger
I really despise the Bradley-hate. Wtf is your evidence? Lack of evidence isn’t evidence, btw.

Booker is cool. But finding him and Ed Davis minutes would be a question not worth asking (and they shouldn’t be on the floor at the same time).
He doesn’t look like an NBA player and the Jazz have went out of their way to not have to ever rely on him. It’s entirely on purpose that we don’t see him play NBA minutes. That’s plenty of evidence.

Furthermore, he looks and plays like a dinosaur in a league and on a team that doesn’t lack them.

I think Kevin Love would be the best fit, but his contract is not possible for us to trade for. I'm worried he will end up on the Blazers, and cause further insane competition in the Western Conference.

Booker would be a great locker-room fit, and he'd bring energy and leadership, but as others have mentioned his game doesn't necessarily bring anything to the floor that we necessarily need.

Joe Johnson just signed with the Pistons, and there are some intriguing names out there still.

Joakim Noah
Kenneth Faried
Thabo Sefolosha
Jamal Crawford
Dante Cunningham
Luc Mbah a Moute
Marcin Gortat

I have to imagine at this point the Jazz are running numbers on all these guys and talking to 2 or 3 of their agents. It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. I can't rule out Tony Bradley having a better season than any of us expect though - that certainly was the case with Georges Niang. I didn't think he'd be half of the player that Jerebko was - I was surprised, but Dennis Lindsey saw it before anyone else.

He moves well enough for a 5. I don’t think there’s any evidence to question this. He has good hands, good touch, and a good motor.

After he was drafted, Udoh became available (not the other way around). At Udoh’s price, and with all the intangible value (locker room, etc.), you don’t pass on him when you know Bradley is a project that will take most if not all the duration of Epke’s contract.

It is in this way that we’ve seen so little of Bradley.

I predict good potential chemistry between Ingles and Bradley in the PnR. Another weapon for the bench.

.

Yep exactly.
Centers are typically the biggest player on the court. Size is a good characteristic for a center. Bradley is bigger than Booker. That was kind of my point of why I said Booker at the 4, sure. Booker at the 5? Give me Bradley

I’ll be sure to let Ben Wallace and Draymond Green know that it’s that simple.

Trevor Booker & Joe Ingles would be a killer locker room chemistry formula. But what the Jazz need is not this this time. They need to settle the new lineup, read and communicate with each other well, practice together amap. Quin needs to revamp his system of p&r’s. Add more pace and space.

I will be sure to let everyone know that Trevor Booker right now is equal to Draymond and Ben Wallace in their prime.

Neither are good options. I just choose Bradley for a center over Booker due to Bradley's size.
Now I'm not saying every taller player is better than every shorter player at center, and I don't think you actually think that's what I'm saying, so no need to act like that's what I'm saying.
No need to try to prove me wrong. We just disagree.

I like Booker, not on this team. He isnt going to fit a need the Jazz have. The player we need is another Favors sized player to play as a 2nd or 3rd string PF. Seems like Bradley fits that mold

Right now the Jazz have no room to bring anyone else to camp unless they let someone go.
