What's new

Trey Burke just tweeted this:

I understand the 'average' kid.. but he's not supposed to be average. He has been advised, I assure you. With all the high profile kids coming through UK there has not been a single ill-advised tweet from any of the lottery picks. None.

It is fair to hold these 'kids' to a higher standard. Most kids aren't on multi-million dollar contracts representing a professional sports company and tons of fans. I don't want to hear anything like sour grapes or whining.. nothing.

Well he sure has that thing called the playmaker ego.

I actually think that Clarke will be a better fit for the starters than Burke. Like I have said before, I think that the offense will run through Gordy and that means that the Jazz need shooters and defense. Burke has struggled mightily with both of those things so far in his very young NBA career.

He has not begun his nba career. He played four sl games. You Have had an oppurtunity to see more and you have chosen to sour on a dude who has "proven"himself over 4 summer league games? Clarke had a great sl and all of a sudden he belongs with our starters? Take some xanys and calm the **** down.

I'm taking all this with a grain of salt.
I will say that it worries me a little bit. Someone that I consider to be mentally tough shouldn't be tweeting/re-tweeting anything like this, at all. Imo, it shows weakness.

I ask this in all seriousness, since the draft what has Burke done that gives you hope?

Ignore everything prior to the draft.

What? Why would we narrow our evaluation window to the off season? Why does that make more sense than watching the guy compete at a high level in games that everyone involved took seriously?

A PG needs to have "his team" to a certain extent. The SL team was a mish-mash of people in all sorts of different circumstances. There was no real team there, and it certainly wasn't TB's team, and the other players weren't there to make him look good.

What has he done to give me hope? I wasn't looking to the summer league for hope.

I think Burke is one of those guys that uses negative reinforcement to try to motive himself. Not necessarily a bad thing but guys like that have a tendancy to become unpleasant to be around after a while .

I actually hope you're right because I don't mind that Rondo'esque 'tude.
I just hope he's not whining. He's been beloved by fans his career thus far.. hope he can take the heat.
I still don't like the re-tweet.

Anyone who is more excited for Clark than Burke is an idiot.

Clark will struggle to get minutes in blowouts this year. He's not that good. He's a crappy bench player on a crappy team.

Come on guys.
