Trey Burke says we're selfish!

Ok, forgive me Trey. Here's to an 11-game winning streak and the #12 pick in the draft. Just do it!

BTW, Trey, the winning 3 notwithstanding, your overall shooting percentage of 38% has been a HUGE part of the team's success...or rather, lack thereof.

Did people boo? I was at the game and don't remember that happening.

Yup, per reports.

NEW YORK) -- As NBA teams are jockeying for playoff position, some are in a battle for the bottom of the standings in order to ensure themselves a higher draft pick. Utah Jazz point guard Trey Burke is upset that some of their fans want the team to lose games just for the draft lottery.

"I think that's just selfish for a fan," Burke said, according to the Salt Lake City Tribune. "We play hard, practice hard every single day. Why would we go out there and try to lose? I just think wherever we do land in the lottery, that will be great for us. But to try to tank games and lose games is just absurd."

With 11 games left in their season, the Jazz have the fourth-worst record in the league.

On Saturday, rookie point guard Burke nailed a game-winning 3-pointer to give the Jazz their 23rd win of the season. Some fans booed Burke as he nailed the shot.

Burke was the ninth pick in this past year's draft by the Jazz. In 59 games, the 21-year-old Burke is averaging 12.8 points and 5.3 assists per game.

I prob would have boo'd too if I hadn't been with a casual fan.

Sorry, Trey. We need someone better than you to win a title, and this is basically our only chance at getting a guy like that.

You guys that are bitching about Trey shooting a lot do realize that he's basically playing SG for us, right?

Corbin has Hayward initiating and running the offense. For whatever reason, he hasn't let Trey do that. I'm not too worried about it. I would like him to shoot less, but he is doing what his role calls for at the moment.

Did he want us to be super excited we barely pulled off a win against Orlando. Well, if we get a great pick he will be praising us next year for our foresight.

I was at the game too and openly cheering the magic late in the game. When Trey hit the shot I thought damn and sulked with my face in my lap, but didn't boo. Even turned to my bro and said the thousands of fans cheering didn't know what was best for the jazz. Lol

I feel like Trey was talking to me:)

That's the kind of attitude that I want! Of course we want the players to go out and win, it's not their job to tank, that's the front offices job. It's clear that our front office wants to gamble a little bit. Fans are stupid and selfish, but that's that.

I disagree. Who is to say we're any more selfish (or stupid) than a player that wants to win for nothing?

I don't blame Trey for being annoyed that his own fans booed him for playing hard. That's exactly what we want from him. Just with an L. It didn't work out this time and that really sucks. But I'm not gonna boo him. Next year we will love seein that.

Cause I sit on a coach and watch them play. I haven't done anything to be associated with the jazz, but I supposedly know what the best is for them. Just my point of view, it's probably somewhat wrong.
