Trey Burke says we're selfish!

I'd say frankly that Trey is being selfish, not the fan. Not that he shouldn't be, but pretty much by definition doing something that only benefits himself and Corbin vs. every single Jazz fan is selfish.
 
Who actually thinks they're tanking? Seems to me that's why people are upset, because they aren't tanking...

I just laughed when he made that shot. I knew losing to the Magic was too good to be true.

I'm sorry but they have been out there "working hard" in WAY too many huge blowout losses this year. I saw nobody in a jazz uniform "working hard" against the pistons.

Gonna disagree with this. I like that he likes to work hard to win, but as fans, it's hardly selfish to want a better outcome longterm for your team. Trey wants that too and if he says he doesn't, he's lying.

OK. But you choose to root for your team to lose, which contradicts the basis of fandom and choosing a team in sports and competition, for your own personal gain to some degree. Sure, you want your team to win eventually and hopefully win a championship, and for the most part for personal and selfish reasons.

There nothing wrong with being selfish sometimes, we all are everyday. I just find it funny that the usual bottom feeders on this board get all butthurt when they get called out for something they obviously feel guilty about. If you were Trey you would want to say the same thing, he just has the ballz to say it and not give a flying **** what you, me, or any other fan thinks. Why? Cause it's the truth.

Just because we get more losses doesn't equal getting the best spot, and the best spot doesn't always equal the best player.

Burke wants Gordon tbh.
 
Dear Trey Burke,

You haven't even been in this market a year and you say it's selfish of us to want a high draft pick. We've had to suffer through years of mediocre Al Jefferson play to get to this point. We've waited years for a championship. We have had to be patient, and we're finally at the door of a high draft pick, and you ruin that by winning a game that doesn't matter. You wait as long as we have been waiting and see if your perspective is different.
 
Another way to view this is tanking and fans rooting for the tank is a result of league rules related to the draft. Fans are competitive and the NBA has made tanking a competitive part of the sport. Tanking gives fans of losing teams something to root for. Fans ultimately are rooting for their team to succeed, and tanking has unfortunately become the losing teams playoff push.
