What's new

Trey Burke

How much did he get in Greece? I thought he had a good thing going in China — good money, short season, not many games, nobody plays any defense, etc. He could stay king over there and have his face carved next to Marbury on China’s Mt. Rushmore of basketball.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed, but some speculation that he was on the high-end of Euroleague which would put him over a mil. He's had a great life, a life most of us would love to experience, and yet I know it stings that his NBA dreams are now I would think officially over.

Raul wasn't exactly an all star. He was just too frail. Way too many injuries.

David Locke’s theory is that the NBA has such amazing athletes and Neto just couldn’t keep up. He had to give it his all to be effective and ended up getting injured.

I went to the Stars game he played in. He quietly got a triple double. I’m a big Neto fan, but understand why the Jazz moved on.

Neto's one of the better 3rd stringers in the league. For the minimum he's decent value if you don't have a young guy to develop. But we had seem his ceiling. NWG is a bigger guard with more upside. Mudiay is better offensively. Better to see what either can offer. And in a pinch, we know Donovan can play the 1.

Hope Raul, Derrick and Jae get standing O's when they return. I guess Korver merits polite applause; Allen an orchestra clap. Kanter and Hayward are still dogs and should be treated accordingly. As for Trey, meh. He was what he was: a shooter in a PG's body. I still cheer for Hood and AB. And Millsap, of course, whenever they're not playing the Jazz.

It's the mark of a good team when ex-players start dotting the rosters of other teams around the league. Favors was a tough decision, but it will soon get much tougher. Can we afford to keep someone like O'Neale when Rudy and Donovan get paid $70-$80M between them? Do we have to tell Joe we can't re-sign him?

Locke has a very active imagination. John Stockton wasn't very big or an elite athlete, and missed only 54 games in 19 years.

Don't know anything about Jimmer's contracts, but he's already 30 and it's too late for him to come back into the NBA... so, why Greece vs back to China?
1) he can still make money in China w/o being there - shoe deals and advertising - based on name recognition, not current playing status
2) prefer the family vacation in Greece vs China!!!
3) develop a new name recognition market for future shoe and advertising deals
think he made the right decision, quit holding your breath that he'll every play another day in the NBA

I know you quoted me, and the bulk of your post, up until this part, was specifically responding to me, but are you responding to someone else at this point?
