Well with the Hayward pick (#9) we could have taken aldrich, henry, or Davis.I hope your optimistic view of the young Jazz players is more accurate than my skeptical view.
George is better than Hayward but not by much.
You have to admit that Gobert was a home run, that one's obvious.
Hood at 21 is a fantastic pick.
Kanter is an ok player that puts up good numbers though that pick obviously didn't work out (kanter was the pick that 90% of gm's probably would have made too)
Burks is better that most #12 picks if you look at it historically. (We did miss by not taking leonard though) And I think Burks is not at his peak yet either.
Trading up for trey was horrible.
Like I said, dante is still up to bat and is very hard to judge right now but again, most teams would have taken him at #5 as well.
So I'm not sure why your are pessimistic about how the jazz have drafted.
Our biggest problem with this current team is that we have not aquired any big time free agents. (Possibly by design since we were rebuilding)
We have done fine drafting most of the time
