What's new

Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

Haha that was rumored before DL said what he said.

"Yall are trippin, mang." Young Dolph.

Like I said, I didn't hear all the deets, but a UK source (good one) told me Lyles was being 'held out' in a possible deal that would have him, Burke, and unprotected firsts (not sure if that was one or multiple) heading to Pacers, PG to Jazz, Melo to Indiana, and Hibbert + multiple picks going to Knicks.

I have asked more questions but my guy won't say anything else (I think he was drinking and loose-lipped draft night).

From PKM

That was before NYC got Lopez though.

So I theorized that LAC got into the mix because they lost Jordan, hence my 4-team proposed trade earlier.

PKM added in a different message that Pacers really want Melo.

^ That seems like a home run for us. If Exum or Hood aren't involved there is no way we don't take that.

That would have been one sweet deal for the Jazz and would have made us instant contenders.

Honestly don't like that deal for Utah. Huge risk that PG is never the player he was before that injury. I'd much rather have seen the Jazz get Porzingis and Hill, NY gets Lyles/Hibbert and Indy gets Burke, Booker and a bunch of draft picks from both teams. That's the deal the Jazz should be looking for.

No way bro. PG is the superstar that takes us from a bunch of good to really good players, to a legit championship contender.

Sucks the deal is dead.

Also, that seems atrocious for Indiana.

How is getting Melo, Lyles, Burke, and multiple picks atrocious for a player they didn't even want (Hibbert) and George?

If it sucked for anyone, it sucked for the Knicks who were just getting Hibbert for Carmello.

Also, Melo would have to OK any deal that involved him getting moved. He has that in his contract.

I mean pretty much any number of 'unprotected' firsts we could give would be totally irrelevant with that roster.

If we somehow got PG without giving up Exum, Hayward, Hood, Favors or Gobert that would be one of the greatest trades for the Jazz ever.

Exum
PG
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

That is the best defensive lineup in the NBA day 1. That has the potential, with growth from Exum and to a much lesser extent Gobert, to be the best starting 5 in the NBA.
