Trey Lyles being held out of practice/Summer League for now

I think we are.. During the draft, someone tweeted (I think it was Woj) that the Jazz weren't enamored with anyone and were looking at trade options when they were on the clock at #12.

Why would we hold him out of practice and summer league for $350,000 of cap space?

It's a srs question. $350,000 to do nothing with isn't worth keeping him out of practice and SL.

depending on the trade they are discussing, 350K could be the difference between keeping Booker or not keeping him, or keeping Millsap or not keeping him...

It's just Summer League....

Plus, we are playing in two Summer Leagues. If he misses teh Utah one, there is always time to get him to the Vegas one. Not like we don't have enough other prospects for fans to be excited about that us missing Lyles makes the event boring to go to as a Jazz fna.

Lol you would be surprised. Dudes on twitter asking Tony Jones if they should pay to watch the SL if Lyles doesn't play.

The better question is, why would Rodney Hood even need to play in Summer League to begin with?

Because he just had 3 good months last year. SL is good to get confidence going for these young guys and get them off to a good start. He gets to test out things he has been working on for the last month.

Did Hood really hurt his shoulder? Any idea how serious it is? I really like his game but seems like he cant stay healthy
