Trib Article: Hayward and Burks make quick connection

In a couple of years who are you to say what their position will be? Did I say starting next season?

Burks is not a PG and Sap is not a SF. They can both play those positions during spot minutes, but they are not suited to play big minutes at those spots.

Burks is a SG who can pass well, meaning he can play spot minutes at SG. Jordan,Kobe,Wade, and many other SG's could do this, doesn't mean they should be starting PG's.

Sap is a small PF who has enough quickness to play SF based on matchups. Against faster SF's he would be at a huge disadvantage.

The Jazz are gonna be so damn fun to watch.

I seriously hope they adopt a full-on running game style. They have the thoroughbreds to do it with aplomb. Hayward leading the break with Favors on the left and Burks on the right and Sap and Kanter following up the play. That will be awesome to behold.

Exactly - you don't play Burks too much at PG - same logic you don't play D Wade at PG because he is a natural scorer who can make play, not a point guard who can score.

Agree. It's good to have some versatility, though. There is plenty of PT for both Burks and Hayward at the wing positions. Add in CJ and that's an average of 32 mins. each, with Raja only playing (I hope) in case of injuries or foul trouble. I'm still hoping for a trade to bring in a SF. But if Burks and Hayward both start, that means the Jazz can look for a 6th-man type, likely a veteran, and not have to overspend trying to get a starter.

Also good to hear Burls say “We’re going to be teammates for the long haul, so it’s great to bond with one of my teammates.” Let's hope both these guys develop into very good players and want to stay with the Jazz.

This is great stuff. I am really excited about Burks. Unfortunately he might have to get a WoW account in order to be teammates with Gordon for 2012.

And somewhere Jeremy Evans is softly crying himself to sleep.

Unless the Jazz resign AK and Favors and Kanter come roaring out of the gates, Evans has the edge on being in the rotation full-time as a 3. It's up to him to earn that, and that would be awesome.

I still say he mostly just needs to become confident in his shot. From everything I've seen (and heard from someone that attended a practice), the kid shoots very well. Just needs reps.

I could give him 7.
