Nether side wants to fight?
Weird that Russian troops don't just return home then and end the fighting.
No, because Russia uses barrier troops in a line behind the front line whose task it is shoot any Russian not attacking. They also target their own troops with artillery if they see their own troops raise a white flag of surrender. Often the barrier troops are not even Russians but Chechens who have no problem shooting Russians.

Did Russia invade Ukraine?

That is what happens when neither side wants to fight. Things were different three years ago than they are now, but it appears you lot are going to get your continued war against the Russian invaders.

Putin's Russia has no trust built up (and shouldn't). A negotiation that starts with Ukraine demilitarizing was and is a farce.

Great job sniffing out the grift to keep his country at war.

BTW...it wasn't grift. the deal was three birds with one stone, and none of it was to make America rich off Ukraine.

First, it put Americans in Ukraine as a trip wire trigger to prevent Russia from rolling in exactly as the small American force as Korea's DMZ does, but because the Americans weren't military the Russians would find it acceptable. Also, those Americans would cost less than our military as theoretically the operation would be financially self-sustaining.

Second, it provided a source of income to rebuild Ukraine's infrastructure and economy. It is cheaper for us to develop a mine than it is to rebuild a country Marshall Plan-style. The morons in this forum who think Ukraine should make the deal with Europe instead don't understand that it would be even better for us as that means Europe is paying for the development of the mining interests to pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine instead of us.

Third, it defangs China just a bit as these are the same materials they have a commercial monopoly on and it would be nice to have this mining operation to mess with the price they are able to charge.

What Zelensky did yesterday had nothing to do with sniffing out anything or not wanting to let Ukraine be exploited. Rubio tried to get Zelensky to sign this agreement 6 days ago in Ukraine. It was Zelensky who insisted on traveling to the United States, to the White House, and doing it on camera. Trump didn't summon him. It is now apparent that Zelensky insisted on doing this at the White House in front of American cameras to embarrass Trump. Mission accomplished, but I don't think he counted on the backlash and now he's trying to walk his clout-chasing back.

The grift, like I said a million times as reported on Fox News, was the pressure to sign without assurances of security.

You just assume Zelenskyy is going to trust a punch of lying psychopaths? **** no!

Your scenario assumes way too much and is too simple to be realistic. It all has to work perfectly in order to be viable, it’s stupid. Putting Americans on the front lines as deterrent? Jesus Christ.

Irregardless, Trump and his team fumbled yesterday. Hard. Zelenskyy walked out with the cool head and the world support. The narrative world you’ve created doesn’t change these facts.

His deals materialize as he goes. This is not strategy or 5D chess. This is moment to moment, reactionary mismanagements compiling on the world stage.

Prepare your anus.

Were I China I'd be considering ramping up pressure on Russia economically in an attempt to end the war and take the USs place as global lead (I'd guess it'd be successful, but could fail if the US attempted to step in as Russia's primary trading partner, which seems possible at this point), it'd build them a lot of trust in Europe.

Checked my 401K today. It actually went down a little since last time I checked.

I haven't been contributing to a 401k account for too long (maybe about 12/13 years or so) but this is literally the first time I have ever checked it and it was lower than the last time I had checked it. (that isn't to say that it hadn't ever decreased before but I have never actually seen the decrease myself before today)

Most economists believe we are headed to a full-on recession with the tariffs that are coming. It's going to get way worse before there is any chance for it to get better.

If peace is the goal, the intruder could just leave. Pretty simple **** here.
You must be stoked because your simple solution is the path Ukraine prefers. There was one person on the planet who could push Putin, and Zelensky just burned that bridge. Now everyone is going with your simple plan of continuing to have Ukrainians die until Russia chooses to leave. Tell us, oh genius of peace, how many Ukrainians will continue to die and how much will of Ukraine will be destroyed before the intruder just leaves? This is the plan you favor, so tell us the timeline for it working out.
