Trump's dictator to-do list

3/4 of Americans and obese or overweight with a cataclysmic amount of chronic disease purely related to poor diet / lifestyle and are on medications for lifetime.
About same amount who believes Earth is 6000 years old and a bit less who voted for Trump. Poor education is too blame, not health system. And uneducated, brain dead conspiracy quack leading health system is not going to improve it lol.

Oh you think experts and scientists go to Americans homes and feed them their food and take away their treadmills. I see why you are confused now.

A medical professional can give sound medical advice but is unable to force the patient to heed that advice.

Do you think a non medical professional handing out advice will make Americans eat healthy and exercise? Medical professionals tell Americans to eat healthy and exercise all the time but we don't do it. You think that the same advice coming from some random person will be followed instead? Strange take.

You just don't understand, it's all the system, man. You can't be part of the system. You gotta throw those experts on the ground! Man!

I love how you don’t respond to the assertion but go off on a tangent. You think the state of people’s health and the system in the United States is good or not ????

It’s indefensible and thoroughly corrupt.

Do you have any ideas if the additives and chemicals in your food that are illegal to use the rest of the world ?? In the US profit for health care and food companies is king above all.

Do you think the state of the US health care system is good, fair and driven by pure motives ?? Are you ok with so much of your population being so chronically ill ??? Defending whatever system and officials who oversee this debacle is the weirdest take.

I highly doubt that things in our food that are banned in the EU are the problem. Most of that **** is political.

In the U.S. profit is king for all things. That isn't about to change because RFK and Dr. ****ing Oz have a say. It seems that it would only get worse.

I think the U.S. health care system is a ****ing joke. I think my Dr. has relatively "pure" motives, one of them being money, another is providing good care. I think the insurance situation is where the problem lies. Employer provided health care subsidies is dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. We should give employers a break and the government should subsidize our health insurance. Single payer would be the best option.

I honestly don't care if people are chronically ill due to their own lifestyle choices. What I want is for them to have access to solutions, hopefully before they develop a chronic illness. It's always going to be up to them to take advantage of those solutions or not.

There are at least hundreds of thousands of people who "oversee this debacle," many of them are legitimate experts in what they do. I prefer experts to laymen in any moderately complicated task. I don't value "common sense" over "book smarts." I value knowledge and experience. I don't value some Monday morning quarterback spewing hot takes.

Every country has it's own rules and regulations about what is ok or not ok to use. What is fine in USA, may not be allowed in Canada, Europe, Japan or Australia and vice versa. Out of curiosity can you list those chemicals and additives which are in food only in USA but nowhere else?

BTW based on this little article USA is ranked nr. 3 in food quality and safety while Australia nr. 13. Maybe you should worry what chemicals and additives are in your vegemite.
Canada is ranked nr. 1 BTW, so I am good lol.

The topic was rfk saying that we shouldnt listen to healthcare professionals.
Your post has nothing to do with that topic.

I did work for a week in a food production plant in Brazil. Holy crap am glad for the FDA in America after seeing the nasty and literally illegal (in America) things that went on in that facility.

Do you prefer experts who are financially compromised and a system that so blatantly allows not just possible conflicts of interest but fairly clear corruption in the interactions between the drug industry and the regulatory bodies that are supposed to police the industry and be responsible for approvals of drugs etc ??

RFK certainly has some lets say dubious ideas. But he does have a long history in litigation of companies to hold them to account for the consequences of their actions.

Dr Oz is a ****ing moron, that one is a complete joke.

No, you don’t understand, if you support him you support all of his ideas and beliefs. It’s a 100% or nothing.
Unfortunately we don't get to pick and choose which version of crazy we get from an appointee like that. You get what he chooses to do. So if they have some overly damaging takes on something that now falls in their legal purview we should pay attention and be wary. We ignore what they say directly from their own mouths at our peril.

This is a good post. I would say that I prefer experts that are financially compromised over non experts that are financially compromised.

See, getting rid of experts doesn't mean getting rid of financially compromised people. You don't have to be an expert to be financially compromised and I would argue that you are easier and more likely to be financially compromised if you are not an expert.
An expert is generally going to be more passionate about the subject and care more about the subject. An expert is generally going to already be doing fine financially and not be hard up for money.
A non expert is more likely to care less about the subject and also more likely to need money more.

If RFK wants to get rid of financially compromised people then that is awesome! But replace them with experts who are not financially comprised rather than non experts.

Sowing distrust of authorities and experts is directly out of the fascism playbook. Trump is deep in that already. See his pick of Dr. Oz. The most financially compromised and conspiratorial of fake "experts" he could possibly choose.

And can we stop pretending that Oz is some expert? Sure, at some point he studied medicine and was a practicing professional.
So, he studied medicine and was a practicing professional but it is pretending to say education and experience is what makes an expert?

That would be the playbook of an authoritarian strongman, a dictator. And you say the United States is an oligarchy, rule by cadre of wealthy industrialists. Trump will take office because he won an election, which is how it works in a democracy. To sum up, the United States is where a single person has all the power, and where a small group has all the power, and where the people have all the power. We're all the things.
