Cleveland is going to rue the day they picked Thompson instead of JV. Having to wait one year should not have been a problem.
I could see Jonas developing into a more fiery, defensively capable Pau Gasol.

Agreed. Thompson with that pick? WTF?

He stuffs Marc Gasol with ridiculous ease, then the next play he nails a jump shot just within the 3 point line. The jumper looked very smooth, was relatively quick, high release, and he shot it with confidence (looked just as good, if not better, than any jumper Kanter has shot so far). Call me crazy, but his jump shot form looks a lot like Pau Gasol's. He obviously has some range (prior to people thinking he might not, questioning how he would have been able to play alongside Favors).
That highlights I'm talking about start 49 seconds in.
He also reacted to hitting that jump shot like a little schoolgirl, fist pumping, not because it was late in the game for some huge game-winning shot mind you, but because it was one basket that closed the huge gap his team was in from 22-8 to 22-10. That speaks volumes to me. He's not use to hitting that shot.
Or maybe he was just excited to play in front of his home crowd? That is such a ridiculous statement I don't even know if you are being serious. Kanter and Valacunias are both players who have high motors and show a lot of positive emotion on the court. I can't believe you are going to trash him for trying to light a fire under his team's ***. His team were playing like they were scared and he came in and gave them some big plays and energy.
