Humor me once more. Who are the 5 '20 a night' guys?
My point is, if you have a top 5 pick, you have to try to hit a homerun. Your team sucks. A "does the dirty work guy" isn't going to help that. If I were drafting in the top 5, you have to shoot for the stars or get a known commodity. That is why I don't think what the Blazers are rumored to be doing is that crazy. If they don't love who is there at 6, why not trade 6 for Millsap. He averages close to 20, gets you 10 rebs a night, is affordable. That is much smarter than drafting a guy that may or may not turn out to be Ronnie Brewer.
I am torn on the Jazz trading 6 for Millsap. I do think I do it though, especially if they see something in Lilliard (and I think KOC has been a very good judge on PG talent. He has drafted Williams, Williams, Maynor, signed Watson and Tinsley, Lopez looked to be a very good draft until he got hurt, Arroyo did well in the role he was put in. PG has never really been a weakness on KOC teams). It's a risk for the Jazz, but with how young the Jazz are, it is a risk that could really pay off for them as well, especially if they feel like they will be priced out of Millsap's FA.
Also, I get your point about there not being other 20 a night guys, but if I were a GM, I would not risk my job with a MKG pick.
