I am going to try to post useful content in the general discussion that you can find nowhere but here at jazzfanz.com

I'll be starting two threads. The first will be a guide to our best local craft breweries and their tap rooms. I know, sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly, the owners of several of the best breweries in the state. I will be providing detailed reviews of many of their beers and the general experience you can expect in their tap rooms if they have them. Among the first places I'll be reviewing are Kiitos, RoHa, Bewilder, TF, Level Crossing, Toasted Barrel, Fisher and 2-Row.

The second thread will be a new and improved version of "The Best Bang For Your Buck at the Utah State Liquor Store." Things have changed with the move to 5%abv in grocery stores. The landscape for beer in Utah has shifted. I will be providing a new ounce of ethanol per dollar score for the cheapest beers you can find at the liquor store along with my impression of the beer and my own score for the beers overall and on a abv/$ basis.

So stay tuned and become a jazzfanz supporter. I am in no way sanctioned by jazzfanz.com, not supported by jazzfanz.com and most probably not well liked by jazzfanz.com, so none of this is "official" jazzfanz.com content. But I want a project like this and this is where I am most active, so this is where I'm going to put it. I hope that it is worth your time and my effort, either way.

Oh and I want to talk about food! I'm on the Yelp Elite Squad for 2019 and hope (and expect) to be on the Yelp Elite Squad for 2020. I eat out at great local restaurants a lot and I write high quality reviews that I post on Yelp. I'd love to bring a lot of that content to jazzfanz.com. I focus on many of the local ethnic eateries and I feel strongly that the Salt Lake Valley is very well represented by authentic cuisine from around the world, just so long as you're willing to look for it.

So I may also start a guide to local ethnic cuisine.

As a child my parents were always on the lookout for any new ethnic cuisine in the valley and they'd go out and try it and based on taste alone they'd very often try to recreate the food at home. Both of my parents were excellent cooks and excellent tasters. They had a passion for food and especially food that they had never experienced before. They passed that love down to me and I have continued their journey to discover the newest and most unique flavors in Utah.

I'd love to share my knowledge and experience of the most unique local cuisine with my fellow jazzfanz.com friends.

Well, It would be my personal take that would be posted exclusively to jazzfanz.com.

Main criteria for getting on the list for jazzfanz.com games? Don't be a dick. @idestroyedthetoilet is out, he's been the worst guest from jazzfanz anyway. Dave aka @TroutBum is out. He's lied to other guests in my house about being the alt of accounts he is not the alt of. Don't come into my house an lie about who you are on jazzfanz.com. Don't come into my house and lie to me. Dave is no longer invited to my poker games. I don't get it, honestly. He has been one of my very favorite guests. I don't know why he felt like lying multiple times. I'm not cool with that, so he isn't going to be back.

I'll have a new protocol for announcing and taking reservations for seats. I need to be more careful than I've been in the past.

I appreciated the hospitality.

franklin, I get. But Dave? I mean, he wasn’t lying about personal information that was intimate and important in some way. It’s just alts. He just enjoys, I guess, having alts and being silly.

I edited my post. No need to call Troutbum out. But All the same, I'm not big on socialising with people who lie, for fun or otherwise. I'm far too gullible a person to keep liars in my life.

Had the Level Crossing Soul Rex double IPA over the break. Really really liked it a lot. Highly recommend. Also had the Kittos Milkshake IPA (?) was not a fan at all. But their regular IPA was very good.

I have some Soul Rex in my fridge right now. I bought 4 and the first one (only had one so far) had floaties. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be "hazy" but I'm never a big fan of floaties. If the rest are the same I'll contact them as I have absolutely never had an issue with their quality before.
