just noticed draymond Green and George are same era for @NUMBERICA
Right, I had selected my first 5 picks before getting Draymond though.

(I don’t believe it was ever a rule that you had to start your first five, otherwise I would’ve approached this entirely differently. It was decided around round 3 IIRC that we could do whatever we wanted with lineups/rotations.)

If we can do what we want with lineups we can do what we want with trades

I am but one voice here, but again, the point of the rule is to force people to draft outside of their era preference. It would create a way to circumvent the entire philosophy as it would be very easy to find someone to make a trade with.

I like the challenge of figuring out the puzzle with players of a type that don’t jive with my philosophy if forced to. If not, I would likely just not draft anyone pre-80’s and I would be racing to trade out of that requirement because it’s almost a different sport than today.

But as messy as democracy is, let’s let it decide from here. Consent of the governed and all of that. Or pres wes can make the call.
That's dictator Wes. Or Dic Wes for short.

Being able to trade whoever you want for whoever after your first five picks are made doesn’t affect the entire point of that rule in the first place either though.

The initial rule has already left its mark. Not a single person would have anything close to the same roster without it.

Yes, I wouldn’t have Sir Charles in the sixth round. Lol
