To say he’s the worst 3 point shooter in the NBA is like saying Boban is the worst penetrator in the league. Favors barely does it and when he does, he’s not good.

I will assume Locke is right and that his 3 pt efficiency is league-worst. But it’s on so few attempts it’s basically not worth mentioning. Westbrook shooting 29% on 5.6 attempts is worse to me because he’s negatively affecting far greater possessions in the course of his sucking.

I think the score matters when it comes to building confidence. You don’t think our team would have a different attitude had we lost by 3 in both games rather than 30?

This is being overly optimistic. Did you forget how the Rockets beat us on our home court last year in the playoffs. Some Jazz fans just think going home will solve the issues of us not scoring or defending them. The Jazz are very flawed and Houston might be the worse match up for them. It seems to me that the Jazz don't believe they can beat the Rockets which is part of the problem.

Then why do we force him to play that way? It is the biggest myth right now in the NBA that stretch fours are so scary. No one guards Draymond anymore outside the three. Because he isn't that good out there. When they move Favors to the corner they are playing 4 on 5 offense. He doesn't get to the teeth of the defense in the paint or get any offense rebounds. He might be the second best offensive player on our team. But, because of these analytics media nerds he is sitting in a corner to try and stretch the floor. Would any of you on the forum guard Favors or Crowder outside the three point line?

I agree about Favors. He has the interior skillset to work alongside Gobert and take advantage of mismatches down below.

Crowder you guard beyond the 3-point line when he's above the free-throw line extension. He has been pretty good there, last I heard.

Neither Favors or Gobert can create offense in the post. Yes, they both can finish, but we can't just feed them, let them go to work and expect them to score.

Houston is Utah, but just better:

Harden and Mitchell - both are asked to do the lion's share of shot creation, facilitation and shot making. Harden is a MVP candidate whereas Mitchell is still raw.

Paul and Rubio - they are asked to be the secondary facilitator and hit shots when open. Paul is simply better all around than Rubio.

Gordon and Ingles - both asked to defend, hit open shots and make the occasional play. Gordon can create his own shot better and his defense has been great so far.

Tucker and Favors - they are there for the dirty work and hit the shots when open. Tucker can hit the 3 and Favors cannot. Tucker's ability to hit the 3 spreads so much and he can defend any position.

Capella and Gobert - protect the rim and finish point blank chances. The success of these guys depends on the successes of their 4 teammates. If those guys play well, Capella and Gobert get more room to work.

Overall, they play offense like we wish we could play and switch on D like we wish we could. Outside of Gobert and Capella, they have a substantially better player at all 4 positions.

So favors probably shouldn't shoot any three pointers.
And Westbrook should shoot a lot less threes but he is an idiot.
I never thought of quin and favors as idiots before though. Maybe I should have.
Edit: I'm just guessing but Westbrook threes are probably more difficult and less open threes than favors.
Favors is the worst 3 point shooter in the NBA (if Locke is correct) and to make matters worse his are all wide open and he provides no spacing with that shot

Except we haven't encouraged Favor or Gobert to create any skills down low. They are busy forcing lobs only and pushing Favors to the three point line. Because they believe spacing is more important so they don't even try to use our bigs down low. If spacing is so important why is this the first time in the history of th sport that we have heard about spacing?

Quin is genius. He knew 2 blowouts were better than 1. Now they are really overconfident and will be super panicked after we tie the series. 2-2. All y’all panicking going to look foolish. Jazz in 6

Good old rope-a-dope pretend like we forgot how to play basketball for two games then we actually guard Harden and quit jacking up 3 point bricks.

I like Ben and most of the local media, even when they're negative.

We're a 50 win team. I wouldn't say that's garbage by any stretch. How many other teams won 50 games??? 7!! That's it. So, yes, we are really good. We're just getting smoked by a team that's better.
